they sound like nice people. Are they married to each other?
No ... but maybe they should be! They're both single (I wonder why ...?), could it be time to introduce them to each other? At least if it all goes south they can write about it and make some money
Society allows me to have a job I'm really happy in working with nice, fun people that pays me well enough to holiday several times a year, have nights out whenever I feel like it, buy a ludicrous amount of clothes, shoes and handbags just because I like the look of them and to have a very nice house in a very nice area.
I'm ok with what society allows me to do. If you're not, maybe it's your attitude at fault rather than society
In a perfect world perhaps one day we will al get paid to just do what we enjoy...
If my ex-husband could have been paid for drinking beer, watching porn and wanking then I would be living in a huge house and living on generous maintenance payments...

Spot on, Blondie.
I also do a job that I love with great colleagues which allows me to have a thoroughly enjoyable lifestyle.
Nobody is prevented by society from doing what they enjoy (unless the OP is in North Korea) so time to stop being a snivelling little whinger and get out of your bedroom.

Tbf, I would imagine that would be the perfect job for a fair % of men
and the perfect job for women would be buying hundreds of pairs of shoes on their partners credit card and gossiping
I've got 262 pairs of shoes. I paid for them all myself and without using a credit card. And I refer you to the smilies in my post to show it was tongue in cheek just it case it wasn't blindingly obvious anyway

Misogyny_83, oops, I mean Misanthropy_83, seems to think that we are all silly women whose heads are too cluttered with nail varnish, knitting and knickers to be able to fund our own luxuries...

Sorry to jump in on the thread but ... ..262??? this is worthy of a new thread Blondie X, i will very jealous if you also have bags to match!
I need pictures, styles and so on
I also admire that you have clearly worked hard and paid for them yourself.

I didn't call you silly. Don't make assumptions
but the rest you are right on

I don't. I find greed deplorable. If you've been fortunate enough to find employment so gainful as to enable you to holiday several times a year, buy a ludicrous amount of clothes, shoes and handbags "just because you like the look of them" and have a very nice house in a very nice area, perhaps it's time to step aside and let somebody else climb the ladder.
262 shoes is disgusting, in my opinion, not because I have anything against shoes, but it smacks of the fact that she earns far more than she requires. She clearly hasn't worked hard enough to pay for them, as it's easy come easy go. What we have here is a prime example of somebody who clearly doesn't recognise their own privilege.

you only need what 5 pairs of shoes max? trainers, smart shoes, boots/wellingtons and slippers

How on earth do you know whether she has worked hard enough? It is entirely her own choice what she spends her salary on. Some people choose to spend far more than the cost of 262 pairs of shoes on cigarettes and drink every year.
If somebody has sufficient disposable income to buy what they want then, good for them, because they have worked hard to reach that level of income.

Because she frittered her 'hard-earned' wages on toss. Easy come, easy go.

What an absolute load of crap and shows you know NOTHING about me.
Not recognise my own privilage FFS!! I grew up on a council estate in South London with a mum who struggled with alcohol addiction after my dad walked out on her when I was 2. My mum held down a full time job and hid her drinking until it got to the point where my nan had to step in and become my carer while she went into a treatment centre - all while I a pre teen.
I left school at 16 and went onto the YTS on £26 a week to train as a secretary and have steadily worked my way up from there to the position I'm in now through bloody hard graft. Before I had my daughter, I often worked 12 hour days in a male dominated environment and had to prove I could stand up against them as it's far harder for a woman to get anywhere in my industry, especially one who doens't come from a privilaged background.
I had a mortgage at 19 and went without a hell of a lot to manage to pay it but now I'm in my 40's and reaping the rewards for starting early and working every hour under the sun to set myself up to be in the position I'm in now.
I want to set an example to my own daughter that you can achieve in life if you set your mind to it and work hard. I worked hard to give her a better start in life than I had but she won't get money thrown at her
So tough if you don't approve of how I spend my money but its MY money and MY choice. But don't dare judge me and post complete and utter lies about me

The privilege of course being just handed a job with a good salary

Blimey! Someone sounds as though they have a lorryload of chips on their shoulder!
Who exactly is losing out or being disadvantaged because someone's been successful in what they do?
As for someone earning 'more than they require' ... do you have a list of what people 'require'? Should we start with the basic needs such as food, shelter, water, sleep etc? After all, pretty much everything else is a 'want'. Of course, people are really good at describing what they want as a 'requirement' and what other people want as greed.

I doubt that a Judge would be impressed by that statement

I am perfectly capable of buying plenty of shoes, handbags and sunglasses on my own credit card, thank you
Generally men are far more prone to gossiping then women in my experience.

A womans shoes say a lot about how she feels,
if they're behind her ears, she likes you.

I bow to your superior earning capacity and your ability to fund female shopping foibles.
Fortunately, I can fund my own perfectly well without any support from anyone else.

it is if you're making BS generalisations about all men, I do the same and you call me a misogynist. Hardly fair is it?
