Why was the tree fire and the pussy thing erased from the repeat?

Yea I'm confused as well, also the bit about "ratting on your mates" (Re: The Stig) is also missing.

A great episode and cant wait for the Boxing day episode, as for the reaction to the shooting of the cardboard cutouts of the Stig, I cant believe how many people have complained to the BBC about this.
This has now promted OFCOM to investigate the complaints, have these people not got anything better to do.

If they had tied Ben Collins to a post and shot him then I can understand, but this was some pieces of cardboard in the shape of a fictional chracter, some people have too much time on their hands.

yes indeed they do. They go and emulate their 'heroes' for real.

Gratuitious violence especially where it involves someone who won against the BBC (and these three jokers by extrapolation) unfortunately indicates that the BBC used its broadcasting power to cock a snook at the court judgement and against a viewer (Ben is a license fee payer too).

Look forward to their grovelling apology to be broadcast by the 3 faded characters.

If you think that shooting at a cardboard cut out of a fictional character is gratuitious violence then I would advise that you don't watch any action films.

Do you think the director general of the BBC told the producers to really go to town on Ben Collins, I don't think so.

It maybe friends having a laugh or that that the presenters feel let down by Ben Collins revealing himself as the The Stg, although not the best kept secret. Either way it is a tv programme in which Ben Collins played a character and I can't remember any of this type of hysteria when Stig no 1 went off the end of an aircraft carrier.

Original program finished at 9.15pm this on started at 6.55pm and finished at 8pm because of the edits.

BBC shows and says stronger stuff leading up to the watershed (after 8.30pm) that is cut out in the repeat.

Finding this pretty tedious to be honest, not a patch on previous specials :(

Was expecting a 'He's back' from Clarkson at the end then. I guess that means there will be a stig next series.

It was a highly enjoyable special i think, it had a nice balance of fun and information, even my parents loved it. The stig at the end looks like there's a new one coming

Decent episode, but why did I have an image of Henry Winkler on waterskis at the end?

Yeah, changing the colour of the Stig's suit would be crazy! They'd NEVER do that! Oh.... hang on a minute.... :D

    Enjoyed it...

    don't care if others didn't...

more more more... even if it has grown a little tired... it's still better than most of the polished turd we see on TV.

Their marketing has really taken off in the last few series though and loads of it is centred around the (white) Stig - for example we've got two Stig soap things in our bathroom and some Stig coffee mugs :p They probably want to be able to keep the same branding.
