I like to have a DVD playing in the background on my PC and I want to rip a few to my PC so I don't have to keep changing disks, what is the easiest way of doing this?!

I wouldn't worry. Even a woman can perform a task such as this okay. Just find a guide on the internet for it and you'll be fine.

Edit: By the way, how many average computer users (who are teenagers) would know how to rip a DVD onto their hard drive?
Difficult to be specific about 'average'. The modal amount of users would be ones who wouldn't even be aware that there are forums where they can pose questions.
So even the simplest questions posed on here would indicate the user is 'above average' IMHO.:eek:
