oh dear, products not even tested, selling snake oil too.

So naive to go into the apprentice, knowing that all her past would be researched and uncovered on national TV

I'm sure her accountant must've raised concerns about employing people cash in hand, which raises concerns about whether she even has an accountant.

She should've said they were all self-employed!

Unfortunately, this practise is very common in the F&B industry. Including those individuals who prefer cash in hand so as not to affect their benefits allowance.

I see no issue with someone working 1 day and getting paid cash in hand.

Was she paying any tax on the 50k per year she was taking on the market stall? Not to mention her "staff"

I expect Susan has already sorted things, by incorporating her company recently. However an employer should keep records and submit them to HMRC - you can't rely on someones word they have earnt under the threshold.
