Red Box, For America, a satirical view of the States from this underrated two hit wonder.
Her poorest selling single of the eighties, but by no means her worst, The Dreaming by Kate Bush. There goes another kanga on the bonnet of me van.
I am currently listening to the Adventures' Broken Land as it is playing on Keith Fletcher's Jukebox, which I am listening to on I-player. They has a less well known song Send My Heart a few years earlier.
Glenn A - Kate Bush's poorest selling single of the 80s was 'There Goes A Tenner', which failed to chart, unlike 'The Dreaming', which got into the Top 50. But I agree the latter is a classic! :-)
I'd totally forgotten this by Dollar which got to #19 in 1981. Hand held in black and white. Their first hit produced by Trevor Horn which led to him producing The Lexicon Of Love for ABC.
Hand Held In Black And White is a fantastic record, and "The Dollar Album" is an underrated gem of 80's pop - Horn only produced the first 4 singles (Hand Held, Mirror Mirror, Give Me Back My Heart and Videotheque) from the album, the rest of the tracks were produced by Thereza Bazar herself, who manages to mimic Horn's sound perfectly on 5th single Give Me Some Kinda Magic...

I love Broken Land, only slightly put off by the fact that if not for the lyrics, it would be a perfect track for Westlife to sing! Another great single from (I think) the same album was Another Silent Day, which I remember buying as a double 7" single in a gatefold sleeve... happy days!
My opinion of the eighties music is that it went from the ridiculous to the sublime, from being exceptionally good at the start of the decade to being downright bloody awful by the end of it.
Here's one of my favourite tracks from my favourite end of the decade. This got to 25 in the singles charts back in 1981.
Seen this week on BBC4 with it's first appearance on Top Of The Pops in February 1981. Now available on BBC catch up player. Nobody has a bad word to say about The Passions single and almost all are highly enthusiastic about it over on the TOTP 1981 thread in TV Shows. It was also my first ever paid for downloaded single.
While here I'll add another Germanic titled single from a year later in the eighties, in February 1982;
