Some of these people didn't actually give their fans these names, the fans just do it themselves a lot of the time.

I don't remember Beyonce actually referring to her fans as the BeyHive, same as Christina Aguilera. Correct me if I'm wrong though...

Gary Numan fans are sometimes referred to as Numanoids....but I couldn't say if he uses the term.

    Britney Spears - Britney Army

Not sure if Britney herself uses the term though.

Beliebers are the absolute worst :o
Navy isn't that bad but I'm one so I'm a bit biased :D

    This is pretty good:

These girls are going to guffaw when someone digs up this video in 20 years time. One of the joys of growing older is finding love letters you wrote to your teen idol.
Team Breezy are the most dangerous to themselves though. "Chris Brown can beat me anytime ;) " ???

A big driver of this is that award shows like Kids Choice Awards, MTV now have awards for the best /most dedicated fandoms.

James Arthur has an astonishingly strong fandom - the J'Army. Their loyalty has of course been tested lately but not found wanting. They all pile onto comments boards under reviews of his shows/album.

Arianda Grande has the 'Arianators'. Why not Grandees I ask?

Pearl Jam - Friends, because they consider anyone who is a fan of their music a friend.

    Or 'The Jamily'.

Shirley Manson of Garbage used to refer to fans of the band as 'My Darklings'.

The Beatles used to refer to the hardcore fans that would wait outside the studio for them as Apple Scruffs.

There's a song about them on George Harrison's first solo album.

Prince used to call his fans "friends" because fan was short for fanatic.

Artists aren't confident enough in their ability to sell music anymore..
(and for alot of them, can you blame them?)

They feel that they have to create an imaginary unhealthily-loyal group of sheep in order to guarantee sales.

Keep calling them 'Monsters' or 'Aliens', keep telling them I love them, and they'll do almost anything I ask them to do.

    And... jumping on the bandwagon...

But not all artists name their fans. Some times the fans get together and name themselves

    Macklemore fans could be more-ons!

I thought of one for Rita Ora, along similar lines, but it's too un-PC!

There should be two threads for this. Serious answers that are legit and P**s takes!

Victoria Beckham calls her fans fashion bunnies. She says it all the time on Twitter.

Usually artists that have no credibility.

    Exactly.
Not to mention how embarrassing it can be.

    Union J - Jcats
    Ariana Grande - Arianators
    Selena Gomez - Selenators
Olly Murs - Murs Army (I think)
    Stooshe - Stooshe Squad

Does Lana Del Rey have a name for her fans? You'd think she would do.

I know a couple of artists have openly said they refuse to name their fans, such as Lorde and Lucy Spraggan.
