not sure if Love Shack by B-52s already mentioned, not a lover of the song but it would count as a feel-good track

    Room 5 - Make Luv

Such a tune :D Another song that people confuse with that (well I do, used to get them so confused before, maybe because they were released within a month of each other)....

I may be alone in this, but KC and the Sunshine Band's 'Give It Up' always puts me in a good mood...

Most people on here have very commercial taste. Would've liked to see a few less obvious choices. Here are a few from a certain era:

    Cast - Fine Time
    Mansun - Wide Open Space
Space - Me and You Against the World
    Bluetones - Slight Return
Seahorses - Blinded by the Sun
    Verve - Lucky Man

I wouldn't say mine was an obvious choice. Nobody I know has even heard of it.

True, and I'm away to check it out right now as I need a lift tonight :)

EDIT: very different from what I usually listen to but I enjoyed it.

In fairness, your picks aren't exactly obscure - all the albums those songs appear on were very successful in their day, and the ones released as singles did pretty well on their own too. I'd say 'Lucky Man' is an obvious choice in particular :p.

All good songs nevertheless, but does 'Wide Open Space' really make you feel good?!? I think it's pretty depressing, personally!

I didn't mean to sound so critical about others' choices; I was just hoping to find a few forgotten gems in the thread, rather than the type of tunes you'd typically find on a record company-compiled "feeling good" album.

My choices were all from a particular period of my life and were included on a mix tape that I had on constant rotation on my car stereo many summers ago. I love each of the songs for their gorgeous melodies. I agree that none are particularly obscure. I'm definitely not pretentious about music and will listen to anything from cheesy pop to death metal.

I'm off to study the lyrics to Wide Open Space now to find out what's so depressing about it; I just loved the tune.
