He is indeed a lovely man. I am sad for him that he cannot play football anymore but happy that he is reasonably healthy.

My girlfriend says they should retire the no 6 shirt at Bolton, too much sadness attached to it.
It's sad his football career ended, but the man is still alive. Many who suffer the same fate are not. He's getting media work, despite not having the best English, and is being looked after far better than a regular person who went through what he did and survived.
Good luck to him, but a lot of the reaction has been completely over the top.

It's on ITV4 so it's bound to have repeat screenings.
Sure enough, there it is on Friday at 10.30pm and Monday at 9pm.
