Plain white T-shirt on a night out

Is it socially acceptable for a man to wear a plain white T-shirt when going on a night out? Or for a night in the pub? The only guys I ever see wearing them are big huge muscular guys and camp gay guys.

My new fella wore a nice white T for our first date and I thought he looked hot :) He's fit in a non-gym addict way (not a fan of guys that look as if they clearly work out a lot!), so I'd say don't worry about it!

    :D

My ex wears plain white t-shirts on night outs but he is on the muscley side. I think they look alright so long as your not really thin or very overweight.

Socially acceptable? Is this what it has come to? OP wear what you want FGS, if you think you look good then that's the number 1 reason to wear it.

Hmm, so the general theme is that it is acceptable providing that I'm vaguely in shape. Here's a photo of me in my white T-shirt.

So does it look okay or not? There's something about a white T-shirt that just seems wrong after dark.

T-shirt is fine, you may wish to wash your face though... :)

You can't black up like that anymore. Or hook your thumbs in your pockets.

Agree with this. Makes you look like you've not been arsed to make any effort. It's not really night out attire, more like popping to the shops.

A white shirt or a white polo shirt would look like you had made more effort.

    Ha ha.

There's no way I was going to post a picture showing my face on here. If my friends found out I posted on a TV forum (mostly in the Soap section) I would never hear the end of it.

Because white is a very unforgiving colour. It can look awful on the wrong person.

You have to do up the buttons on a shirt. And polo shirts are sometimes difficult to pull over your head because of the collar. They also have buttons.

I like wearing white t shirts on a night out! They may be boring but sometimes you don't wanna stand out too much.

Anyway, apart from the mucky face, that is a fine figure of a man. White t shirt all the way for you kiddo!

I nearly always wear a t-shirt on a night out - though rarely a plain white t-shirt. But that's cos the majority of nights out involve going to see a band, and anything other than a t-shirt seems out of place at a rock gig.
