Graham Norton Series 8

When does Graham Norton take over the Friday Night slot? Presumably unlike Wossy, Norton will stick to his 12 episode series order but according to this news article, it starts on 22 October.

http://www.iftn.ie/broadcast/BroadcastNews/?act1=record&only=1&aid=73&rid=4283305&tpl=archnews&force=1

Now I compared it to last year's Wossy, there was one week off for Children in Need but then that only amounted to 8 episodes ending 18 December so, how are they going to fit in 12 episodes?

It's not a criminal offence for a series to carry over into the new year, you know. They don't have to all stop at Christmas.:p;) (A similar train of thought appears to be employed by Merlin fans, worried that the 6 part autumn series of Doctor Who planned from next year is going to take away Merlin's slot. in an autumn season that runs for 18 weeks.)

IIRC Graham's last series was recorded on a Thursday for transmission the following Monday. So this series they could record on a Tuesday or Wednesday to give them enough time for post production before a Friday tramsmission. Therefore they could record one programme (episode 9) on Tuesday December 21 for transmission on Christmas Eve and one programme (episode 10) on Tuesday December 28 for transmission on New Year's Eve. Then episodes 11 and 12 go out in January.

So I just saw that there are 19 episodes this year, and it looks as if Graham is going to end up presenting this series of the Graham Norton Show like when he presented "So Graham Norton" on Channel 4. Going from 22 October to the 1st week of March with no breaks ( There is a taping break) but Episode 10 will be on New Year's Eve and then the next episode will be the week after)

I do wonder when Series 9 will air next year. Usually the GNS airs two series per year about 25 episodes (March/April and October) but if the 9 episodes for series 8 end in the beginning of March, will the next series only start during the end of October like Series 8?

I thought that when Graham took over for Jonathan Ross, he would have kept the same amount of episodes per series or been given more episodes. I didn't imagine that he'd be given less episodes. (25 to 19)

Cher looks like she's trying to resemble Florence Welch with that hair.

From the looks of it, 'Burlesque' makes Mariah Carey's 'Glitter' look like Citizen Kane in comparison.

    One thing Norton does tho.....

he has his guests laughing thier botox off.

credit to him ( over JR ) the guests genuinely look comfortable and having a gas.

( not under JR perverts scutiny )

all Grahams Hollywood guests seem to have a hoot on his show.

Really enjoy his shows, always end up with a joyful laugh.

    Cher comes across well.

( think the Stalker in the audience kinda spooked everyone  )

    I love this show!
GN gets the best out of his guests and it's such a laugh! :D

So pleased Wossie is no longer on and that I can listen to GN on Radio 2 between 10-1pm now too.

That lady in the chair was probably telling the truth about Dawn French. My brother saw her in full on bitch mode.
Probably why she was so keen to get rid of her.

I know that the show isn't really a traditional interview-type show but I was a bit disapointed with tonight.

It's rare to see Cher on a TV show so it would have been nice to have a more in-depth conversation with her.
Almost enough to make you miss Parky! :D
