Laptop help

A week ago my son threw up over his laptop. We cleaned it up, left it up-side down to dry out and bought a cleaning kit.

Anyway, tried it out today, and it switches on okay, loads up okay but half the keys type random nonesense instead of the corresponding letters eg: J = .j, M = [mooe]

Anyone had this problem or got any advice? I am a bit of a numpty, so plain English would be good!

thanks!

You may be able to prise the keys off if you're very, very careful as there might be some "bits" stuck underneath.

However the sequence of keys you're getting makes me think that there's either a short circuit somewhere or still some fluid/material inside causing problems. It is possible that the keyboard and/or motherboard are damaged.

Ultimately you either take it to bits yourself and look or get a professional to do it for you. Laptops are fairly easy to take to pieces if your careful and patient, but they are a pain in the rear to put back together :)
