That's not technically true. People report BTs SD and HD is a higher bitrate than skys.

Also much is down to broadcaster, like Motors TV on Freeview looks better than the sky version, so must be slightly higher bit rate.
    Or a better coder .......
In AV. Toolkit switching can be optimised..... And multi pass coding can help things quite a bit.

And even in the days if early MPEG 2 say 15 + years ago there were very siginifant differences between Coders

The UK series opener of Fear the Walking Dead saw 211,000 UK viewers tuning in to new channel AMC UK last night (August 31).

85,100 of them watched on BT Showcase according to somebody in the comments.

I wonder how long AMC will stay a BT exclusive? It doesn't look like it's worth their while unless BT are paying them excessive amounts of cash.

So when does this launch as a proper linear schedule? Thought they were adding extra sport?

Yes I wonder how they got around buying up FTA rights and distributing them via one platform only?

BT would have been better putting some games on ITV. Not everyone gets a Freeview signal.

There's a channel on cable to show the free games as required but it doesn't carry the promo/advertising junk content.

They "got around" it by not actually buying any FTA rights.

Well, no, because BT want people to subscribe. They're not going to give their content away easily.

But if you take BT broadband you get BT sports 1 free? Not bad but I guess the catch is not everybody will go with BT.

But if you take BT broadband you get BT sports 1 free?

Only if you have access to BT Sports on some platform or other which has to be paid for separately. If you only have access to Freeview then the offer is completely worthless.

As for being "free" there have been sharp increases in BT's charges for other services recently which have to paid for whether you want or are able to receive BT Sports or not.

Could take a BT Vision box but if you had a decent PVR it would have to be used as a spare.

Can get it on Freesat from Sky if you have that aswell?

Can we not just have a sticky thread with the details of actual upcoming sporting events and no chatter?
It's a bit pointless as there is far more sport, aka football, on ITV than there ever will be on this channel.
