It was always a funny choice to ditch VIVA for a channel like Spike anyway.
Why? VIVA is a poorly performing channel with only a few worthwhile programmes that will fit in fine on 5* and Spike fills a gap in the market since Bravo closed down.

Well VIVA is going back to showing music videos so I am sure some will appetitive a music chnanel on Freeview again.
The changes are underway, Viva on 21 now dropped to an MHEG slate "this channel is on Freeview daily from 9am and will resume broadcasting at this time" "please consult your program guide". Not yet changed LCN though that must be imminent.
A bit pointless having a channel on for two hours taking up space. Seriously, would it be crime having Viva on all day? 4Music is all about those disease-ridden trollopes the Kardashians and a Beyonce jerk-fest, so it would be a breath of fresh air.

Maybe because its a place holder until it launches later again or maybe for Spike +1?
Oh come on, nobody is forcing you to retune and you must have a highly marginal signal if you've lost them. Do you not have an "add channels" option?
The platform is a joke tbh, low quality channels reduced in bitrates and to YouTube quality on some of them, too many retunes because of frequency changes and channel number changes.
Another ****ing retune and lost HD channels in the process, BBC news HD and BBC4 missing
Doesn't your device automatically add channels as per basic Freeview HD spec?
At the very minimum, VIVA should be automatically added in the background after a few seconds when you're watching another COM7 channel. This avoids the risk of losing COM7 through the retune process, if your signal is borderline, as previous posts here indicate.
There's still no EPG for VIVA on channel 58 yet, but I note the EPG data for Community on 790 ends tomorrow, so perhaps the end of the dual transmission of the Community Channel coinciding with VIVA launching on COM7?
I think given the increased choice and these are at least better than the shopping channels, Freeview is showing signs of improvement.
It's a shame the last few of the main Freesat only channels can't make that move to the platform or channels like Gold or Eurosport can't be tempted to make the Freeview switxh.
It's gone DVB-T2 format so that only Freeview HD equipment tuned to high power main transmitter stations like Winter Hill Bolton with good aerials can easily pick it up-it shares the same mux as BBC News HD and other channels on that.
Yes so that will half the broadcasting costs and probably a bit more, as its more restrictive in its reach.
Someone used to have a website that used to show you the data rates and usage of the channels for each multiplex, it was always quite interesting to view. Can't seem to remember what it is anymore.
Viacom18 (Viacom's Indian venture) got a licence to broadcast Rishtey on Freeview earlier this week, not sure if that's related to this in any way. Perhaps VIVA is serving as a placeholder for Rishtey?

Even if it did return I reckon they should rebrand VIVA even back to TMF or something else.

I wonder why more music channels havent gone the com 7 / 8 route?
Also surprised some of the radio stations havent ..or is radio via the TV basically dead?

Nothing wrong with You tube quality here, some great HD videos available.
