But that's impossible.
Who knows what's possible when you're arsing about in your own timeline?
If true it's an escape hatch for The Master down the road as well as the Doctors & Clara.
That's not an official source, and references no official source. It's about as official as the poster they've mocked up featuring McGann.
At the end of The Name of the Doctor, they were trapped in the Doctor's timeline though, so this will still have to be resolved somehow, be that a direct continuation, a flashback or even just a spoken explanation
I don't think there was any implication that they were trapped, only that Clara couldn't get out without the Doctor guiding her.
The only way to escape is to reopen the lock that conceals the Doctor’s darkest day.
... hasn't been written by someone who writes for a living. It's just not right for a short synopsis.
River- Clara, remember, tell the Doctor this, only this....
(River whispers to Clara)
Clara- Will he understand?
River- Always
Even if they were trapped - which is ambiguous at best, and not really an important story beat either way - but even if they were trapped, have you ever seen a Moffat two-parter?! Like hell it has to be resolved!! q:
or what 'official' means? No. No they don't. But its not the first time either.
