I've always found Nigella Lawson to be an extremely "sad" figure...like dead behind the eyes, the lights are on but no one's home kind of thing.
This was before learning of all the hardships in her life too, but it makes sense now:(

    really?
she always seemed kinda happy on tv? i never got that vibe?

The jury weighed all the evidence and found them not guilty. Is that not enough for you then?

The correct verdict is not always delivered.

Nigellas Christmas specials are still being repeated on the main channels . I don't think she has too much to worry about in terms of paycheques.

Allowing your own kids to smoke weed in the house? Seriously lol

What would be the correct verdict? It didn't seem like the jury had many doubts as was concluded pretty quickly. If Nigella is unhappy with the result maybe she could ask for a retrial but I expect she just wants the whole thing over and forgotten.
If the sisters are making up a pack of lies then Nigella should get her lawyers to start proceedings for libel/defamation etc, Schillings are pretty good at those sort of things. If she doesn't then I take it what they are saying has some basis in truth.

I wonder if some of the more conservative states in the USA might feel she is less than squeaky clean now but I feel the UK can be more forgiving of these misdemeanours

    What reputation is that?

Nigella has made a fortune based on being the daughter of an ex chancellor of the exchequer - a classic case of: 'not what you know, but who you know'.

Finger licking good Nigella - aka: 'food porn'.

No doubt she will carry on as ever, with her dodgy recipes, suggestive innuendo, and voluptuous cleavage on show.

As she often says: 'If she can do it, anyone can!'

Depends what you want from a cook show at the end of the day.

TV cooking has just about been done to death anyway over the past 10 years.

Kate Moss did so there is every chance Nigella will. Like someone said its not what you know, its who you know. In a years time everything about NL will be forgotten. Having said that I thought the trial was about the two sisters who defrauded the couple not about Nigella. It seems like the media has put her on trial.

But hasn't Kate Moss been unable to visit America since then?

Haha unlike Nigella, Kate Moss was one of THE biggest names in her chosen industry.

It was a career not built on who she knew either, the fashion industry broke usual protocol to have her as the face.
ask yourself.....why she is so much shorter than your other models?

she was also in an industry, where lets face it, drugs and other not so healthy habits are glamorised.

They're hanging off the arm of well known rock stars who have all lived the sex, drugs and rock n roll.

contrast the food porn star, she isn't top of her industry, she sexualised food and won an army of fans.
a very cheap but effective marketing tool, sex sells remember.
she took a very wholesome industry esp when it comes to female chefs and put her own sexy take on it, I'm not here to judge.

But even though she sounds like she's having sex when she is cooking,it isn't an industry synonyms with drugs.

Team Cupcake can make excuse after excuse for her, but I know people have harshly judged joe bloggs for smoking weed.
but if you're a pornstar of the culinary world, have enough cleavage and enough botox on your face.
......we all love you, esp the prime minister.

I suppose it is true what they say.....one rule for the rich, another for us poor kin.

I am very much "Team Nigella" and dislike Charles Saatchi who believes that, just because he is mega rich, he can do and say anything. Nigella is better off without him, does not need the dubious security blanket that Saatchi offered at a time when she was most vulnerable. Saatchi is an art collector and obviously a collector in other ways.

    Go Nigella!

I find all this Team Nigella schmuk almost as nauseating as her.

Interesting article here and some good comments that I applaud.

I didn't realise Grace Dent created the whole hashtag Team Nigella thing^_^ I guess she'd rather the Grillo sisters were sent to prison for a crime the jury found they didn't commit.

Also contrast how favourable her treatment is compared to Tulisa, both have been implicated in drug related activity.

One is chav so is abused incessantly by media and public alike, one is a posh child of a Tory ****, so we have David Cameron and all the rest falling over themselves to make excuses for her......hmmm

If I actually gave a damn about watching food on TV I wouldn't care what she's got up to in her private life. Who cares, if she can still do the job?
I haven't heard anything yet that would make me turn off in disgust, writing her off as a waste of space. What's the big deal?

One was caught dealing drugs, the other has stated she has dabbled, there is no proof she was using to the extent that has been stated, and the people that have made those claims all have something to gain from them!! I don't think it's a case of favouritism, there just different situations.
