Of course they would pick up that crappy show that ABC infamously aired instead of the Closing Ceremony in the US.
It was NBC, so infamous isn't the right word, "inmoderatelyknown" would've been slightly more accurate...
But I saw a bit of the Pilot of Animal Practice, it was shit, but depending on reaction to later episodes in the states I'll probably take another look when ITV2 start showing it.
Wish they'd make their minds up what sort of channel they want to be.
Are these shows trashy enough?
The controller of ITV2 said recently they wanted to go down the sitcom route, making the channel similar to E4 I suppose, but knowing ITV, it will still be full of crap no matter how much they copy other superior channels.
From what I've seen of US pilots so far: The Mindy Project (No UK Home) - Lots of people like it, not really my thing Animal Practice (ITV2) - Didn't like it Go On (No UK Home) - Funny and heartwarming, I thought ITV2 would pick it up, rather pissed that they haven't The New Normal (E4) - I really enjoyed it, but it's probably marmite (in the same way Apartment 23 was). Predominantly features a gay couple and surrogacy, so there may be some issues for more Conservative viewers.
I was quite looking forward to 666 Park Ave, thought I'd like it.
But now I know ITV 2 have bought it that doesn't bode well for the type of show it is. It's probably in the vein of Vampire Diaries.
I've seen clips of 666 Park Avenue and Ben and Kate - 666 PA looked OK though not sure it's my type of thing. Seemed to be an interesting premise though so I might watch the first episode when it's on. Ben and Kate seemed quite amusing - might be one to put on series link to have to watch when there's nothing else on.
Gave up after 3 episodes. Just seems to be a "monster of the week" show. Terry O'Quinn is always worth watching and Rachael Taylor is tasty but I didn't care about the rest of it. I may save it for a later re-watch if the ratings keep up.

Ratings for 666 have been on the decline since it premiered with it losing around 3-4 million viewers from it's lead in show Revenge. It's also getting 20%+ less ratings than Pan Am was getting when it aired in the same slot last year. This coupled with the news that some of the sets were destroyed in Hurricane Sandy leaves it highly doubtful that it'll get a full season. The only thing that may save it is that it is getting decent viewing figures when watched later through DVR.
3 out of the 4 shows have already been axed by US networks and Up All Night has had so many changes already (and more to come) that its future doesn't look terribly secure.
ITV2 are probably hitting themselves at this turn of events they could have bought Matthew Perry's NBC sitcom Go On which has proven to be a hit in the States

Including one of the two leads quitting the show this week. I think it’s days are numbered.
IMO, a brace of miserably inadequate failing sitcoms is a step up as compared with ITV2's regular diet of Andre, Katona, TOWIE and Keith Lemon and their ilk
Comments
Ben and Kate looks bad. Poor Lucy Punch should be doing better things.
The only show that has potential is Up All Night and that's because I love Maya Rudolph.

Ben n Kate wasnt up to much either imho:eek:
Yes I don't expect Ben n Kate to last long.
i lasted till the second episode , its very dull, the shows itv 2 have gone for are all pretty poor iam afraid !

ITV2 really did pick some duds on this occasion!
On occasion?
