Just published a wordpress site... someone has found out?

I posted a new wordpress site 3 hours ago - within an hour someone emailed me asking what is was about? How did they know? its just a basic landing page?

    No it's someone I know

They must have an ability to see what sites I'm hosting

Does the site use the word "jihad" and is the name of the person enquiring "David"?

It's weird that after 2 hours of publishing it, I get an email 'what's this www.newsite.com about?

Not necessarily weird at all, depending on context and details.

Maybe you signed in to wordpress.com with your facebook details or something and it got posted to your facebook account?

It would have been easier to ask that person how they knew about it?

Change the password to the email address you registered the wordpress site with. My only guess is that they would have seen the confirmation emails from Wordpress.

Perhaps Wordpress gets things put onto the Google search quite rapidly and something on your site contained a keyword (your name perhaps?) which caused your contact to spot it.

Wordpress blog has a facility to send a notification to Facebook, Twitter or Google+ each time you post. Maybe you left this "on"?

Why don't you just ask the person you know how they found it? Why are you making it so difficult? :D

I think perhaps he has used a 'reverse ip lookup' and seen all the sites hosted on the shared server - when you do this, do you see just all sites in a random list or can you detect the likely hood that sites are owned by you?
