I wonder what he is thinking, or if he is thinking at all. Does there need to be an intervention? His actions are affecting other people (the other stars of the show). He may have a private battle going on with Chuck Lorre but what happened to professionalism.

Apparently 2 and a Half Men has been cancelled due to his behaviour. I must admit that that can only be a good thing. I caught an episiode once and thought it was possibly the worst show I'd ever seen. and CS is a dreadful, wooden actor.

Seriously though, it's a shame to see anyone losing the plot like this. Charlie's father and siblings seem pretty well balanced and well adjusted - what went wrong with Charlie?

His father Martin is a reformed alcoholic.

True. I knew that, but had actually forgotten:o

I don't particularly like Charlie Sheen, but it's sad to see anyone going down such a self destructive route. I hope he can sort himself out.

I agree, its the talk show's and magazine that will take advantage here. This is TV gold I imagine. Instead of promting him to sort himself out by 'ignoring' him so to speak, they will relish to opportunity to publisize this meltdown.

Thank God whatever dysfunctions Charlie has has lead to a temporary halt to this dreadul sitcom being made.

Oh, and considering his rant was against the show's creator, what does he have to do to get fired? Talentless F**K

A bit like this country did with Oliver Reed

When i saw the name Charlie Sheen i knew what to expect clicking on the thread.:(
its sad to see hes got his finger so firmly on self destruct...saw Martin and Emilio on the One Show the other night both looking clean and healthy, its a damn shame Charlie hasnt got the strength to do the same.
and hes not talentless at all to the FM who said that, hes actually a bloody good actor whos sadly intent on putting himself six feet under if he doesnt change his ways soon.

Very true-- he's a great actor in both comedy and the heavier stuff. Of course he followed his dad's footsteps into acting, but his CV is pretty strong on acting credits.

Oh he definitely WAS a good actor, has a very credible cv behind him, but that's all in the past. 2&1/2Men is absolutely dire, and I'm glad it's been put out of its misery although I feel sorry for all the other actors, crew and production staff that now find themselves out of a job. Sheen is an addict and hell-bound, and that's fine. But he's a seflish ar*ehole and his latest rant is the straw that's finally broken the camel's back and put paid, I hope, to future employment for him until he sorts himself out. IF he sorts himself out. For his family's sake, I hope he does, but him? Why should anyone give a crap about a man who cares only about himself?

If all he wants to do is get wasted, hire hookers and watch porn, fine, his life. I can't summon up one ounce of sympathy for him and I'm glad CBS has finally come to its senses.

that was a bad rant lol. i thought it probably would be blown out of proportion but its bad :D

he sounds very angry and probably shouldnat have aired that to the world

He is right to feel angry, Chuck Lorre saying he would be pissed off if Charlie outlives him wasn't exactly a friendly or helpful comment. Charlie says he is clear of drugs now from his system and he is taking every day as it comes. Good on him. He is mad at the way people he thought were friends have been quick to put him down when he was at a low point.

Reading his wikipedia hes been on "meltdown" for years sadly, now hes 45 his body is probably not as equipped to deal with the abuse hes subjected it to..its a cliche to say it but its his kids i feel sorry for, actually particularly his oldest daughter whos at an age to witness what is going on..his younger children are probably being shielded from it(hopefully)
on the flipside the younger children are going to grow up without a father if hes not careful so yes i agree with you hes ultimately being selfish but addicts are by their nature selfish.
I wonder how much input his parents and siblings have,i imagine theyve been trying to straighten him out for years.im sure Emilio had addiction issues of his own years ago but he seems to have conquered them.

I stand by my opinion that he is a bad actor. But he's been in some good films (Platoon, Wall Street, for instance).

I think he is dreadful in Two and a Half Men. But then again, it is a dire programme, and maybe it's hard for him to do much with such poor material. The success of that show, compared with such shows as say Arrested Development, never fails to astound me.

he doesnt sound very balanced in the rant though, his anger isnt really coming accross in a rational way. he sounds a bit nuts which probably wont help him. I like it when celebs speak the truth and dont care but he sounds in serious termoil to me, and his career is obviously going to suffer the fall out it seems

I think Two and a Half Men is quite funny and I also like Arrested Development. It's good to see Jon Cryer on screen too, let's face it, the UK has some pretty poor comedy series too and I would rather watch Two and a Half Men than alot of the crap that's on over here

The UK has some truly awful 'comedy'. There's very few comedy shows I actually watch though :) I just think Two and A Half Men is trite, and you can see the jokes coming a mile off. Jon Cryer is a good actor, but it makes me a bit sad to see him in this kind of second rate rubbish.

That's just my opinion though - apparently it's the highest rated comedy in the USA, so millions obviously like it.

    More of the same:
    http://www.tmz.com/2011/02/24/charlie-sheen-open-letter-two-and-a-half-men-chuck-lorre-tirade-turd-production-season-shut-down-crew-cbs-warner-bros/
Charlie Sheen just wrote a sternly worded open letter -- which he's given to TMZ -- addressing the decision to shut down the production of "Two and a Half Men" for the rest of the season....

"....Clearly I have defeated this earthworm with my words -- imagine what I would have done with my fire breathing fists..."

CS is seriously unwell, but there's ^ a sentence I wouldn't have minded using once or twice in resignation letters  ;)

It's in no way an intelligent comedy, it just is what it is. A playboy musician who writes jingles lives in Malibu then has to take his brother in and of course the nephew comes to visit.

I agree you can see the stories unfold and know what's going to happen, but it's just a half hour or 20 minutes of silliness. :D

I think his dad has been on the case for years, it's him I feel really sorry for. And yeah, his kids.

Maybe when the money runs out (although I think he's good to go for a while yet, considering his earnings, although blow/booze/hookers do all add up!), he might have to rethink things. That's if he's still around/alive by the time that happens. For the moment, Charlie thinks he's invincible.

I think that's the problem not to mention he has too much money & of course because of his drug infused body, he can no longer control eveything he says & do.

He really needs to be put on cold turkey treatment now before it's all too late.

It's a good thing Denise Richards is being very strong for their daughters, don't know about the other one with the twins as I've read she's also a drug user.

Yep. Sometimes, I don't want to think. I want to watch a grown man vomit into a baby's pram and laugh my natural ass off at the sheer stupidity of it. I do like intelligent comedy, but I'm not watch Two and a Half Men for witty barbs and nuanced comedic acting.
