Radio 1 DJ Chris Moyles has hit out at his BBC bosses in an extraordinary rant on his breakfast show, accusing them of "a huge lack of respect" and revealing he had not been paid since July. Moyles told listeners he was "very, very angry" about the situation and said he thought about not coming in to present the show.
He said the corporation could not "be bothered" to pay him and told listeners: "Why should I come in? It's a two-way street. What annoys me is the fact I mentioned it to people this week. Fix it, just get it fixed. It's a huge lack of respect and a massive FU to me."

600,000 quid a year? What a criminal waste of licence payers money.
Don't blame him for a second, he doesn't seem to be having a good time of it at the moment.
BBC, I love you, but get this sorted.
However airing his grievances in such a public way is hugely unprofessional.
Now probably due for the sack! with luck.
I may be wrong, but wasn't there something on Question Time about top earners in the Beeb not being paid for 2 months?
Sorry if this is wrong, it's just a vague recollection, but surely this would then apply to him.
I have 43p in my purse to last until Saturday so to be honest I have very little sympathy for someone who is as unfunny as he is hideous. I think he should be shown the door and let someone who can at least empathise with their listeners take the helm.
I do think it's wrong for anyone not to be paid, and he's entitled to say so in public, but I can also understand listeners getting annoyed. I missed the rant, but I do listen fairly regularly and he frequently fills his show talking about all of the new gadgets he has bought and how he's more than willing to pay extra to fly first class and generally making no secret of having a very large disposable income. In that respect, it's hard to feel much sympathy for him, especially when so many people are losing their jobs, or facing pay freezes or even cuts through no fault of their own.
It also bugs me that he seems to love flaunting when they are late for the news, and deliberately padding just to make it later, or not playing many records because they are rebels. And I'm sorry, but celebrity rasberry is one of the most inane things I've ever heard on radio, but it does get me out of bed and away from my radio, so not all bad.
He is perfectly entitled to complain about it to the powers that be in private, but the license payers that contribute to this smug arrogant ****'s salary do not deserve to be subjected to his self pitying whining. He is paid to do a job and by not playing music and ranting he was not doing the job.
Boo-hoo he's had personal problems recently - haven't we all?
I hope they sack him; he's outdated and unfunny.
He should be ranting directly at whoever messed up, not on his radio show!
Absolutely. He is NOT paid to whine, he is paid to entertain (although it's debatable if he even manages that).
I agree on that point.
I do think that this could be the beginning of the end for him at radio 1. I bet this time next year it'll be the Scott Mills breakfast show
Oh absolutely, and if I read about it in the papers I'd think "wtf is going on there". But I still don't believe he should have spent 20 minutes ranting about it, slagging off the BBC, slagging off BBC staff members, slagging off the licence fee and generally making everyone in the room with him feel rather uncomfortable from the sounds of it.
The Beeb can treat DJs pretty poorly. I recall when Steve Wright got the chop from Radio 1 he got shunted to the early morning graveyard or wasn't scheduled at all, but he wasn't allowed to start his Radio 2 show until his R1 contracted had ended several months later.
John Peel was also badly treated - forced into a completely unsuitable Saturday afternoon slot aparently as a joke between some of the management. I also recall that in the midst of all the tributes after his death Andy Kershaw revealed that Peel felt he was being worked to death by the BBC being forced to do too many shows.
He starte off basically saying that he was upset/in a mood/angry about something but wasn't going to say anything about it over the air. He then spent the next 25 - 30 minutes going on about how he hasn't been paid for 2 months and can you imagine if it was this person or that person who had't been paid blah blah blah. Someone texted into them and basically said that you only work 4 hours a day and get paid a lot and I'm starting a 12 hour shift and get nowhere near that and then Chris starts going on about you don't know about my life blah blah blah.
By all means complain that you haven't been paid for your work - but don't wait for 2 months to bring up, on air, and expect to get any sympathy or understading from your listeners. If you can wait wait 2 months to complain about not being paid then, in my opinion, you get paid too much!
Junior doctors and nurses working a 12 hour shift...
Emergency services going out to rescue people from dire situations - or "pick up the pieces" ....
The lady who comes into my Supermarket, who works at Demelza Children's Hospice who sits at night, comforting and holding tightly the bereaved parents of a much loved child........
and there is Chris Moyles, an overpaid, shouty, unkempt and looking unwashed, lard arse....
I am crying for you Mr Moyles...
Actually it is only one month - he was paid at the end of July which means that he missed August.
If you are including September then it isn't the end of the month yet.
I have had a company miss my payment once for one month and it was pretty annoying, but I can not find too much sympathy for this man.
