Having a laugh by separating people based on sexuality.
What next? Take the micky out of anyone who isn't white?

Why is the latter instantly not acceptable but gay people are still on this planet for others amusement?

The joke is about the fact that this forum always speculates about he sexuality of contestants and there is always someone who takes the approach you have of trying to shut down discussion of sexaulity as though it's something to be ashamed of. And hence, this thread becomes an example of the exact absurdity it was mocking.

Speaking as a Gay man I am amused at the ludicrous pomposity in telling other people what they can discuss and supress LGBT visibility. We have no problems discussing people's hair colour, where they come from etc. Why should sexuality be different?

It's only different if you think it is something you should be ashamed of.

So, why do YOU think sexuality is something to be ashamed of and to surpress discussion of?

I'm a gay man too, and I agree. It's clear that this isn't homophobic at all.

Yes, life would be terribly hard if I was homophobic, I'd have to jump with fright every time I looked in a mirror.

Though I still do that sometimes, bed hair is a shocker some mornings.

Oh god, here come the 'HOW DARE YOU SUGGEST SOMEONE MIGHT BE GAY BASED ON LOOKS ALONE!!!!" brigade.

And I can guarantee that most of you high-horsers are straight.

Take it from me, a gay guy, there is NOTHING offensive about speculating if someone might be gay just cos they're a bit camp. Camp guys are usually gay. Everyone knows it.

If you were to say that gay guys are usually camp, that's a whole different story. That's when you start getting offensive.

But speculating if any of the X Factor finalists might be gay doesn't offend me, and I'm sure I speak on behalf of most gay guys with that as well.

Anyway - my bet is that Andrea is gay. That's it.

As gay guy myself, I do find it pretty insulting when people say "____ is obviously gay" based on nothing other than them exhibiting effeminate mannerisms, or the songs they sing. It's still stereotyping, despite the fact that there are plenty of effeminate straight guys and masculine gay guys.

Thank you! It really annoys me when (presumably) straight people attack threads like this over and over 'OMG U CAN'T ASK THIS U DON'T NEED TO KNOW U R SATAN U R HOMOPHOBIC' haha it's just natural curiosity it's not a crime!

I doubt Jake is gay he's just really friendly. Considering there's a pic of one of the guys from the new boyband in a male group orgy/porno it's safe to assume one or more of them are bi I wish I could remember names but I don't know his name

Congratulations to all the acts who have made it to the live shows. They are all gay in my book.

Statiscally one of the 8-boy banders has to be gay.

Singing, in X-Factor, pop background and there are eight of them... impossible that they are all straight.

There has to be one I think ...there's always the gay one..this group is double the size, so maybe two...?

Not a necessary question but an interesting one for some ,for many reasons & theres no problem with it being discussed at all as far as i can see .. & it is NOT homophobic to do so, as long as the intention is clearly not derogatory.

I don't think gaydars truly exist really, especially for straight-seeming gay guys of which there are many.

Of course some of the contestants may be bisexual but since both straight and gay camps tend to erase the idea of bisexuality being anything other than a "bridge" between gay OR straight I doubt any of them would admit it.

Indeed a bisexual may be terrified of saying they are bisexual in case they are labelled straight or gay and receive prejudice from either camp (including prospective partners), neither of which they truly exclusively are inside.
