meet up with people for food

This is going to sound a bit odd but are there any websites or apps where you can meet with other people to go out for a meal just so you don't have to sit on your own? I'm aware of city socialiser but its not quite what I had in mind. I've found apps where you can go to peoples houses to eat their food or vice versa so cooking for one is not wasteful and I've found an app where you can sell your left over takeaway food. But is there an app/website out there where say you advertise which restaurant/cuisine you want then people reply? I love eating out but feel very awkward on my own.

I'm guessing you don't mean something like meetup.com? I know the groups round here from there often go for meals.

I never knew you could sell your takeaway left overs :D

That sounds like a great idea!

I wish you'd PMd me - we could have got something done and become the next e-commerce millionaires :(

Quick - get the idea copywritten! :D

I saw an article yesterday about a restaurant that has opened for solo diners only, wish I could remember what is was called!

An app to go to people's houses. I would find that very weird.
As for your question, sorry if I'm being thick, but I guess your friends don't want to go with you as often as you'd like?

    blendabout.com

Not sure if it's based in UK too, as I haven't registered, but maybe worth a look.

you'll never get stood up on a cannibal's night out. There was a show called Dine On Me until, um, they ran out of celebrities.

Go to Mcdonalds on a busy day, someone is bound to sit with you so you don't have to eat alone.
