A brief article in today's Sunday Times made me chuckle.:D Mary and Charles Blake are visiting a farm and filming in from of the pig sty. At the same time the pigs were amorous, caused some disruption to filming. I wonder if this scene appears in ep 6 or 7! http://www.thesundaytimes.co.uk/sto/news/uk_news/Arts/article1329847.ece
I agree Lord Gillingham was pretty boring and a little bit of a stalker. *cough*
I'm interested to see what Charles Blake is like - from what little I've read on the itv site, he and Mary are going to clash a bit which I always like in a potential romance.
No. Just suspecting since it was hinted in the end of last weeks episode.;)
Just a question as I've not been in the thread the whole time it's been active but has there been any sort of confirmation regarding the show's writers/producers confirming that a character would be this series?

Do we first meet him in the episode tonight?
No, next week. He joins Evelyn Napier at Downton. There's a link in one of my earlier posts today regarding Mary and Charles Blake. It's quite amusing.

I'm not sure who you are referring to but if you mean Gregson, no.

Damn. He looks rather delicious. Oh well, just have to wait another week I suppose...
I can't help feeling that if O'Brien was still around and had been the one to find Anna after the rape, Mr Bates would have some idea of what's gone wrong!

Is what I suspect.

With EN presumably returns tonight, this could even be a love quadrangle, as we knew that Evelyn's supposed to fancy Mary in S1 as well.
Back then his affection was ignored by Mary who was infatuated by poor Mr. Pamuk . Who knows, this time he might be a bit luckier
You know that for sure?
I suspect she definitely is.
That's what I love about Downton Day on this thread - brilliant
I will be disappointed with lack of originality if that's the case. Particularly if
Oh yes that's actually a good point. It does seem a tad unrealistic ...
ETA : ... especially in the way it looks as if it's going to play out

No, sorry - I meant regarding a female character and a condition which can only happen in females ...

Oh I see what you meant now I think but if my thinking is correct wasn't it confirmed pre-series that all characters lives would remain?
Yes, Julian Fellowes did say prior to episode 1 there would be no deaths this series.
What about a female character's changing condition? Was anything said about that?
