    Nargis.:)

I think she has scraped through the last couple of rounds by the skin of her teeth (runny ice cream, simplicity of dish) but she did show some leadership qualities. Poor Terry just flapped about a lot under pressure.

As long as there isn't a complete travesty like there was on the celebrity version when Jayne Middlemiss won I'll be happy. I've stuck my neck out on another forum and tipped Alex, Dr Tim and Dhruv to be in the final.

Stacie and her mammoth Victoria Sponges - bless her heart! I loved it when she said "that's how I'd do it for my husband!" That's the nicest thing I've heard anyone say on telly for ages! Just what good food is all about really.

You're right, that is what good food is about - Stacie's food is all about love and comfort and her native northern roots. Masterchef gets so up its own backside sometimes with the fiddly ingredients and methods.

I bet those Womens Institute ladies would have stuffed the entire cake down their faces if only the cameras and their mates hadn't been there. They're probably the types who order one dessert and five spoons in a restaurant.

Shrek "That's got to be the biggest sponge cake I've ever seen!" Praise indeed for Stacie!

Glad Terry's gone off for some training, hopefully in a darkened room somewhere.

At the moment I think Reasonably New Dad Dhruv is my favourite to win - I think he's technically the most versatile, and just the way the show is being edited makes me think it might be him. Stiffest competition ever in my view though.

Stacie is TV gold in the nicest possible way. I don't think she will win as SSAlex and Dhruv seem to be more accomplished cooks (am discounting Tim as I can't stand him!) but I do hope she gets into the final three. Do hope that she gets much TV work as a result of being on Masterchef as her personality shines through. Just loved the way she stared ar the ginormous VS then served it in whopping great slices anyway! As for the WI ladies, most WI ladies I know would have shovelled down the cake quite happily!

Maybe, but her food has not shone through, unless she pulls out something exceptional cooking wise soon I tip her as next out, I really liked her in the earlier rounds, but I think she is getting cocky and I don't think she has the talent to back it up.

Alex, Dhruv and Stacie are my final three. I'm not sure Tim will last that long, I dunno I think he's going to flap under any amount of real pressure. Tonight's trailer looked excellent all that running around in a castle or something? I sense some more disaster. :D God I love the finals.

Toady's comment on 'Moules Marinière' not containing cream really annoyed me - because they didn't ask for that, they gave a choice of the chicken or mussels in a white wine sauce. Moules Marinière was only mentioned afterwards...though that could have been down to the editing.

Does anyone know if any of the finalists have a blog anywhere online? I'm sure I've read mention earlier in the thread but at 100+ pages it'd be some task finding it.

NB. And for me, the VS was the best thing on that meal but even I would have baulked at trying to shove it down my neck on national television.

But none of them finished their main course. I'd have still been peckish enough for a nice cake!

Understand why Terry went but he was my favourite so:cry:, relieved that SSAlex managed to pull it back and present a play of food which they said had flavour. Sorry, can't warm to Dr Tim, and his chicken dish reminded me in look, of somethinbg that my cat had brought up. Dhruv really irritated me last night, thought his histrionis came across as somewhat fake, but he is very easy on the eye...

Speaking as a fellah, I rather prefer Stacie, although at 6' 1", I might have to lend her a ladder! :o (Don't fancy spending time with Nargis, even though she's good-looking - personality counts a lot with me and I couldn't be doing with the hectoring and flouncing.)

But if I were of the female persuasion I wouldn't fancy any of that lot; Dhruv is the best of the bunch, but he looks slightly squinty-eyed and a bloke whose chin wobbles when he doesn't produce a perfect dish is certifiable (are you listening Dr Tim?). SSAlex seems nice enough, though rather weedy.

I agree though, that at this stage, SSAlex is the front-runner. And forgive me Stacie, I am looking forward to seeing how someone vertically challenged deals with the castle steps tonight; perhaps the beehive will be used on the way down, like a slinky? Now there's a thought! :D

I read somewhere that Terry's employers didn't know he had been on Masterchef and they only found out when it was on the box. He did very well to get the job as a chef. He will do well in the future.

Stacies's blog is very interesting and has some good recipes including one for the infamous VS with a pic!

I thought Nargis went a bit over the top with her bossy attitude. Was there any need for all that shouting at Tim, a la Gordon Ramsay, with just the two of them in close proximity working as a team? Is it any wonder Tim went all quiet.

There's something a bit gormless about Tim. I don't blame Nargis for losing her rag a bit and she did apologise afterwards.

He's a handsome chap but hasn't quite got the Phwoaarrr factor for me!

Blimey, you CRY at Masterchef (although I must admit I had a tear in my eye when Ming won last year)? I do wonder how much the blokes crying on TV is an act... they know that part of this is the 'how much do you want it' bit (am I the only one who thinks this is a nonsense?). Is this a plot by the producers to turn the whole thing into a reality TV series - next they'll be staying with Toady and Shrek. :D Watch the number of participants dwindle? ;)

    No, I said I don't cry over Masterchef...lol!

Show me someone I consider to be a hard man in tears though, and I will blub...

If you like cakes, check out the range that Stacie makes for her home bakery! There are recipes on her blog as well!
