It's it amazing how fast the gloating tories on here evaporate as soon as the polls stop going their way.

You say this every few weeks, and when challenged to show 'gloating tories' and how they've vanished, you just dissapear from this thread until you claim it the next time.

The average lead in ComRes polls over the last nine months is five points – just like the yesterdays.

    If he sacked balls
and got Harman to stand down by the party Conference and really sorted his front bench out that would increase. But he needs to sort his act out at PMQ's today will be interesting to see if recent events have given him a much needed kick up the backside.

Does this count as an example? http://forums.digitalspy.co.uk/showthread.php?t=1950697

When did that happen? both the gloating and the disappearing.

in my experience it's the labour posts that are full of :D:D:D:D:kitty::D

is it gloating? and has the poster disappeared?

We had that one yesterday, see post #3681.

The latest poll, just announced an hour or so ago, is

    Yougov

    CON 32%, LAB 40%, LD 9%, UKIP 11%

    :D Of course it is.

In other words, it's looking highly likely the Tories are getting kicked out.

I'd say it is gloating but the poster has (thankfully) not disappeared.

And yes, Jol is chief among the gloaters but does perform a useful service by posting the daily updates with a brief commentary.

Where's the gloating exactly? Unless the definition has changed to 'mentioning something'.

Only if the poll is good for Labour, otherwise Jol dissapears too.

Making personal comments about other FMs demeans anything that you have to say (and is of course against forum rules)

He didn't want Balls in the first place. He appointed Johnson. If he changes the shadow chancellor again he might be accused of dithering.

I've seen plenty evidence on here of bucketloads of Labour gloating by laughing boy but nothing like that to pin on the Tories

If there was a referendum on Britain's membership of the European Union, how would you vote? (YouGov)

    Remain 42
    Leave 36
    Won't vote/Dont know 22

Still awful for Labour. Why has their lead fallen so much?

In a historical perspective: opposition parties have bigger leads until GE time when people become less interested in protesting and more interested in electing the lesser of many evils. Often that means a reduction in the lead. But is 14 months "near election time"?

Obviously just margin of error, but 37% seems a point lower than quite a few YouGov polls. Will be interesting to see if anything goes back to the LibDems tomorrow and UKIP.

Miliband didn't realise it was time to change tactics on the Economy.
they need to dispel this myth that everyone is now happy and okay with house prices rising. inflation lower and more people working.

A lot of the jobs out there are terribly paid
The reliance on Foodbanks for people in work is one of labours strongest cards.
It looks like the energy companies are trying to scupper labours plans on a freeze.
so time to really open up the Grubby area of energy production/supply.
loads of people out there really are still feeling pretty terrible about things and labour have failed to state the case of why and what the effect is "cost of living crisis" doesn't cover people understanding the true impact its just labour being lazy.

Awful? Considering it's less than four years after one of their worst election results ever. At 37%, it's within the margin of error of their average of 38% which would for all intents and purposes deny the Tories a majority.

The thing is, for all the talk of the Tories surging in the polls, 35% is only 2pts above their average of 33%, so it's more of a shuffle than a bounce in the polls. Not mentioning the fact the increase is from UKIP, not Labour, so I am really quite perplexed at the excitement from the Tories on here that they're going to get a majority in 2015:confused:

It's beyond me how you can think with a year to go, in an improving economy, with a government that has basically been universally unpopular, you think a 2% lead for the opposition is a good thing. Are you just after the post count, or on a wind up?

I doubt it will make much difference. The LDs have a core vote of around 7 to 8 per cent and the rump left are generally pro EU anyway.

Those results would more than mean the Tories are out, I'm happy with that.
