I am being serious and not trying to cause offence, but can John Bardon talk in real life?

I wondered if he had been given a non speaking part because the stroke had affected his memory and his ability to learn lines.

My uncle had a stroke a year ago and although he lost his speech, it has returned albeit slowly.

    That's so sad.

I hope they're not working him too hard.

He doesn't do many scenes so i'm sure they don't.. and i seem to remember reading that EastEnders are doing all they can to accommodate John's physio/appointments, etc :)
