DM's latest single is unusually weak. It makes scant difference here though, for unlike the rest of Europe we have a music industry that is built around performers between the ages of 14 and 27. Aside from the occasional exception, after that they're deemed over the hill.
That shows how different things are from the '80s. Back then a lot of the biggest pop stars were in their 30s.

I've not listened much to Depeche Mode. What I have heard hasn't blown me away too much. It's interesting to see how popular they are on this forum, yet how invisible they have been to the shadowy figures who run the Brit Awards.

He didn't say it was fact did he? The OP was not stating facts either, just opinions. There are no facts about what is good in music, only opinions.
Um...no but I was just sharing an opinion too.
