Hey guys, I am starting a music video illustration project called "Floating Island Videos." I'd like to know what your favourite music videos are. Thanks for your help in advance.

Let's make a long list!

I'll start:

Favourite is Guns n' Roses - Paradise City. Really captures the excitement of a great rock band in action.

Also love Foo Fighters - Back and Forth, no particular reason, just always makes me smile ;-)

Music videos are best when they're doing something innovative with the medium. Nothing more boring than just watching a band or artist sing the song to camera (with notable exceptions like Addicted To Love...)

    Peter Gabriel - Sledgehammer
Often quoted as groundbreaking. Not the first use of stop-motion photography in a video but still very cleverly done

    Radiohead - Street Spirit
The use of ultra-slow motion complemented the melancholy in the song perfectly

    New Order - True Faith
The use of quirky costumes and choreography make this a very memorable video

Depeche Mode - Enjoy the Silence
Really difficult to pick out one Anton Corbijn video because he's a real master but this is one of my favourites

    Beastie Boys - Sabotage
    Foo Fighters - Everlong
    Michael Jackson - Thriller
Stuck these three together because they're "homage" videos and all great examples of the fun you can have in a few minutes of video time

    A-Ha - Take On Me
Groundbreaking for its time and still a great video.

Aphex Twin - Come To Daddy
UNKLE - Rabbit in Your Headlights
    Nine Inch Nails - Closer
The power of the pop video to be truly disturbing

    Sinead O'Connor - Nothing Compares 2U
Of all the examples of the "close-up face singing to camera" video this is probably the best

Frankie Goes To Hollywood - Two Tribes
At the height of 80s nuclear tension FGTH make a video of a punch-up between the presidents of the US and USSR. Sublime.

    Tool - Schism
Tool's videos are often a blend of live action and stop-motion animation (created by band member Adam Jones). This is probably my favourite example. Fascinating and creepy

I could go on all day but had better stop for now.
