It can be hugely frustrating last week they had a problem and almost nothing was uploading i take it you use the new uploader? The longer the vid the more chance it has of not uploading but eventually it does do it just very annoying

I used their new uploader, but with my experience, it just says "connecting" and it didn't upload anything for an hour, until I gave up and tried uploading it again. After several attempts it did eventually upload. You be lucky to even upload 2 chart show clips in 1 day on myspace.

The New Chart Show was on again yesterday on Chart Show TV but it was a repeat again so it looks like they have given up on the new version.

Sounds like a right shower of a channel perhaps they should just give up and let the box channels, 4music and mtv fight it out from the only time I have seen it I wasn't impressed and I am glad Virgin don't show the channels.

There are a lot of faults with Chart Show TV. Another fault is that they crop most videos to 16:9 even if they are 4:3 or 14:9 to be modern yet only have Mono sound on a lot of the new videos.

I did actually try upload some chart show videos, but they got rejected by dailymotion because of copyright issues. Dailymotion are strict in terms of uploading music videos on their website. I know CentralSouth3 (YouTube user) tried to upload his 1989 chart show special on dailymotion and that got rejected as well !!!

I see music promoter Dylan White is campaigning for return of Top of the Pops.

    http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/tv/a144771/campaigners-want-top-of-the-pops-return.html

Perhaps he could also campaign for the return of the chart show to one of the big five channels.:)

I wasn't a big Top of The Pops fan because it sometimes showed the acts couldnt actually sing or mime well and it sometimes put you off a record which actually was good when all the production had been done on it.

I'm afraid to say TOTP is far more fondly remembered than The Chart Show, which makes no sense really, because it's not been finished for that long compared to other well known shows. It's pretty much a case of "Oh, they should bring back TOTP" and "...Oh yeah, I remember The Chart Show.."

So if they can show classic The Chart Show why not TOTP?

Depends what you mean by "they". CSC repeat(ed) The Chart Show because they know it was the only decent thing they ever made. Subsequently, they can't even broadcast it properly, and for that reason, not alot of people watch it... plus hardly anybody knows it's on.

The BBC are stubborn over TOTP because, well, it's the BBC. They refused to sell it to Simon Cowell even though Simon would've given it a nice home, but the BBC want to keep it even though they aren't "using" it. Everyone knows it became crap because they stuck it on Sunday evenings on BBC2 - for the target audience of TOTP, the only thing they'd watch on a Sunday evening on BBC2 is Top Gear. It was fine the way it was on a Friday evening (I don't remember much from the original Thursday days), they just need to learn from their mistakes.

Personally, I gave up on TOTP because the music was so terrible, and it's not everyday you hear a 17-year-old complaining about modern music. ;)

UK Gold used to repeat Top Of The Pops at one time, but they haven't done so since the mid-90s.

Touché, but UKTV is co-owned by the BBC anyway, which explains how they managed to repeat the TOTP 2007 Christmas Special last Christmas.

Simon Fuller is to launch a new music show using the Now! That's What I Call Music brand. He says it will have an interactive chart and promote unsigned or new brands. Doesn't say which channel it will be on.

I just watched back a Sky+'d episode of a Vault repeat form late November with Rhythm is a Dancer at No. 3 in the Dance Chart, but No. 1 in the Top 10. Surely whatever singles were higher in the Dance Chart would've sold more than Snap in the Top 10?
