humax 9200 and topup anytime

bought humax from comet today and much imnpressed with machine .however when topup anytime launches will i still be able to get uk gold and discovery and setanta sports or will it be a totally useless box for those channels .any ideas ? thanks

    The only box that will be compatible with TopUp TV Anytime will be the actual Anytime PVR from TopUp TV. There is a number of technical reasons for this, the firmware on the Anytime box will obviously have been written specifically to record the Anytime content overnight, no other PVR has this ability built into the firmware and would require manual setting of the timers.. Also is the fact that for a box to be able to record the Anytime content it needs to be able to record 3 streams from a single mux simultaneously.

    TopUp TV are for the foreseeable future continuing to run a reduced classic service, although they haven't reduced the price to match. The bad news is that TopUp TV are not taking any new subscribers.

    As for Setanta, when it launches next year, you will not need an Antime box for this. The 9200 and all other TopUp TV compatible boxes should be able to recieve this as long as the card is purchased.
