Childrens TV shows from the late 80s and 90s - nostalgia thread

I've been reminiscing about the TV shows I used to watch as a child mainly in the 1990s but probably also some 80s shows (I was born in 1983) as they used to repeat alot, I think.

Someone suggested I should post a thread about it here, so here we are lol I hope its ok to post this as a general topic since im sure its a topic thats been brought up before? if not then I apologise. Anyway, anyone remember the following (off the top of my head, also thanks to the CITV Old Skool Weekend for reminding me of some of these!):-

* Button Moon
* Puddle Lane
* Fun House
* Knightmare
* Charlie Chalk
* Penny Crayon
* Mike and Angelo
* Watts World
* The Demon Headmaster
* Parallel 9
* Gimme 5
* Live & Kicking/Going Live!
* Fully Booked
* Bodger & Badger
* Raggydolls
* Dogtanian
* Poddington Peas
* Maid Marion
* Bitsa
* Brum
* Byker Grove
* Top Banana
* John Barrowmans Movie Game Show

Thats not to mention Animals of Farthing Wood which has had its own discussion in the GD forum and many other American and other foreign kids shows. Oh and anyone remember Edd the Duck and Gordon the Gopher - and Roland the Rat?! I guess they don't count as shows as such though lol :D I remember being gutted when CITV dropped the on screen presenter, if I remember right they said there'd be another one but in the end they didn't get one and links between programmes ended up done via voice over :( not the same(!) lol.

There was also that CBBC show about inventions that never made it big, that always featured inventions from a Japanese company - Shamdogu company ltd or something? that wasn't on Bitsa, was it? I forget :o there was also a game show where basically everyone got gunged and it was hosted by a guy with a double barelled name, something like Mark Benson someone? that was pretty hyper but I don't remember the name of it...

    Loved most of them particularly Maid Marian, Raggy Dolls and Dogtanian. Another one I loved that barely anyone remembers was Visionairies.

    I also loved Palace Hill.

    The programme I think you mean is get Your Own Back presented by Dave Benson Phillips.

    There was also a CBBC show about sports and exercise called Activ8 and a documentary series called something like limelight? :confused: there was one programme which followed a young child who helped at his parents baptist church in the US (deep south) and showed footage of the worship, with gospel singing etc.

    Clarissa Explains It All was quite good. I didn't mention American shows since this forum is for UK shows, otherwise I'd mention Rude Dog and the Dweebs, Ghostbusters, Ghost Writer, Inspector Gadget, Heathcliff etc etc :D

    Was that the thing with Lynda Baron in a plane.

    My youngest daughter used to like Come Outside. Lynda Baron's character had a little dog called Pip, or Pippin. It used to amuse me and my husband how she always found some convenient place to land the plane, no matter where she was going. It must have been more recent than 80s or 90s when we saw it though - youngest daughter is only ten.

    Youngest son used to like Rosie and Jim ('Rosie!', 'Jim!'), which I don't think has got a mention yet. He was born in 1989, so I suppose that one was early nineties.

    Sometime in the early eighties (before my kids came along but well after I was old enough to know better :) ), Cockleshell Bay was a bit of a cult thing amongst me and my mates. I don't remember much about it now, but the kids in it seemed to eat a lot of cheese and chutney sandwiches.

    Thanks, yeah my niece loved Come Outside, so every time she stayed over she had it on the telly. And I used to love Cockleshell Bay as well:D
