This is just weird. Why is a site that acts against bullying promoting a known bully as one of it's ambassadors? Wasn't Jade famous for being aggressive and bullyish on her previous Big Brother time too? And even now, they're still not dropping her?
Any other anti-hate organisation would have dropped the person the second they did something which could bring the entire organisation into disrepute.
I think she's handles it with a good deal of grace and dignity. However, that's hardly the point. An anti bullying charity should not have a bully as one of it's sponsors.
We are very sorry if anyone we promote occasionally gives offence in this manner.'
Occasionally ????
There are none so blind who will not see .....
Says a lot about their organisations - money grabbing do nothing type place .... Jade has a huge history of bullying others ... not only in BB3, also in BTR and was even known for it whilst she was at school herself ....
My mum’s just made an interesting point about the ‘environment’ designed to stir up those behaviours. They have to be there in order to be drawn out, no matter how artificial the environment. Jermaine hasn’t succumbed to this behaviour and neither has dirk or Shilpa and even arguably Ian. Whilst I would agree that the house and situation is designed to raise stress levels, you can’t pull out of somebody what isn’t there.

Exactly. Good point. I can say 100% that in the same situation, that I wouldn't act like that, as I'm sure most people can say. Also, it's hardly a one off on Jade Goody's part. She was a bully in BB3,BTR and now in CBB. A coincidence? I think not.
I'm about to email them, what do you guys reckon to the below?
To whom it may concern,
After viewing this website I am impressed by the work, help and support you offer in the stand against bullying. But, I am suprised by the statement issued on your website concerning Jade Goody's actions towards another person whilst appearing on Celebrity Big Brother. The words 'it is unforgivable it is perhaps understandable' give the impression that under certain circumstances and in certain environments you believe bullying is tollerated. Bullying in any circumstance or environment is wrong and should not be commended or reasoned. If you are as quoted 'sorry if anyone we promote occasionally gives offence in this manner' then maybe you should choose a better representative for your charity.

I emailed AAB today as Jade Goody is one of their sponsors (incredibly!)
Here's their response....it appears that morals are all well and good, but ultimately, money talks.
'I think we all know that on Big Brother people are put together in an artificial environment to stimulate aggression and confrontation and this often results in atypical behaviour. It would appear Jade has been no exception. She has supported the charity in the past and endorses our objectives, and yet she herself has proven vulnerable to letting out the aggressive instincts we all have. While it is unforgivable it is perhaps understandable.
We at Act Against Bullying do not condone any form of intimidating behaviour whether it be by Jade Goody or anybody else. We are very sorry if anyone we promote occasionally gives offence in this manner.'
Louise Burfitt-Dons, founder of Act Against Bullying, issued 15th January in response to public emails to the charity.
Jade goody is a sponsor of an anti bullying charity???
Thank you for your phote call to the charity and we have noted your concerns. I have posted a response on the website and hope you will continue to support AAB
With best wishes.

I am really disappointed, not to mention horrified, having read their statement. As another poster suggests on another thread, perhaps the media (sounds like it might be LBC) might interview them to ask them to justify this 'it is understandable' posiition which, I feel, is indefensible.
Hmmm, I wonder if an organization to aid abused women would say it's occassionally understandable in certain cases to smack them around. You know, artificial circumstances and all.
Does anyone know if Jodie Marsh still does work for that other anti bullying organisation from last year? Is she still slagging everyone off in her blog?
Am I imagining things, or didn't something similar happen with Jodie Marsh last year.
Apologies to her if I am wrong, but I am sure I remember her being a spokesman or whatever for an Anti Bullying Charity, and soon after her Bully/Bullied behaviour in the house last year, she was discreetly dropped.
Am I wrong about this? Does anyone have any more info? And if I am right, why do these otherwise nobly minded charities keep choosing such dubious people as their patrons?
Thanks Caitlin_24, I also added at the end, I would be grateful for your comments on supporting Jade Goody as a representative for your organistation. Hopefully they will email back, but judging by the responses they have given to other posters emails, they don't seem to care, which is really sad

Good point. The email response they've given really is absurd.

There is another poster, giving links to a London radio station we can email about AAB's response. That might work. I emailed the charity back expressing my disgust at their response but they haven't emailed back yet.
Pathetic response.
Jade is of financial use to them, so taking a strictly utilitarian approach (the most negative connotation) she is therefore absolved of all sin, even though she is an ostensible 'role model' whose actions may ultimately influence others in a negative manner.
Maybe PETA should hire Pete Burns as a sponsor/role model regarding the ethical treatment of animals, complete with monkey fur coat?

I'm guessing they are receiving a deluge of emails expressing the disgust felt at the crappy statement they have issued and are now having a crisis meeting as to how to deal with the situation.
How can anyone ask Jade Goody to be an ambassador for anything? That's what i can't get my head around?
what a load of twaddle.......you have to live by your convictions charity or not.....they will have to drop Goody. I think all their good work will be undermined by unfair scandal if they do not take the logical and ethical stance.
What if someone says ..."yeah but Jade Goody did it...and it wasn't wrong then"

disgusting coming from a supposed anti-bullying organisation. they should be advocating ZERO-TOLERANCE for bullying.
Any other anti-hate organisation would have dropped the person the second they did something which could bring the entire organisation into disrepute.
perhaps then they wont have to rely on money from 'dubious sources'
Im sure its not the first instance of money given to charities by people/companies who seem to be at odds with what they are supposed to supporting.
Yes, seeing her crying in the toilets every single day is a sure sign that it's just sliding off her back.
I think she's handles it with a good deal of grace and dignity. However, that's hardly the point. An anti bullying charity should not have a bully as one of it's sponsors.

She probably can, but why should she just handle it? why should anyone have to put up with it
