our vet says never to use jeyes, you should use NON-BIOLOGICAL washing powder, non biological does not contain the same ammonia type enzyme that is in urine and therfore washes it away. BIOLOGICAL washing powder leaves the same scent that repeatedly attracts animals to foul in the same place, Basically if you use BIOLOGICALyou are reapplying the same ammonia (urine smelling enzyme thats also in JEYES)
either sprinkle the washing powder from the box all around and hose it down or put it in a watering can with water and pour it all around.
Ive stopped a cat from coming into the garden by putting a stone frog with glass eyes on the garden table where it usually jumps down into the garden. Cats dont like eyes which may be another animal especially above them or where they like to go. It may be worth trying an animal orniment with glass eyes around the areas they like to go or enter the area.

 I bought a 'pretend' cat with shiny eyes (glow in the dark) and the bloody (3) cats next door stand right next to it. I'm sure they're taking the piss out of me!!
Things like Jeyes only causes damge to other wildlife around and shouldn't be used. I dont have a helpful suggestion though. We have two rather large dogs. that works.
I have moved into a new house and the garden is in perfect condition....but I have a flower bed and I can't stop cats crapping in it. I chase them away and they come back again.
I've read all over the internet of different methods, ranging from cds to pellets to putting pepper down but none seem to really make a difference. I just wondered if anyone had any methods that worked.
Try a mild solution of biological washing powder poured over the area in which they poop! I adore cats, have one myself but I know how enraged I would be, if they kept fouling the garden, mine goes indoors in litter which is emptied definately immediately:D
The sonic things that you plug in and make a noise the cats dont like are brilliant.
I paid £30 for one, the 4 cats next door just sit on the wall and it doesnt annoy them. In fact it annoys me as I can hear the high pitch noise:eek:
Glad it worked for you....I'm still looking for a way to stop the cats messing up my garden, so will follow this thread for anything new. I've tried so many things I'm out of options.
Thin light mesh fence laid on the soil. They cannot get through. You can still plant flowers. Also a bed of carpet grips or nails dug in the soil where they jump. Nice little surprise for the dirty little shits.
Using bleach won't help as it contains ammonia, which is also in urine, and the moggies will think that there's another cat on their territory so will pee there to re-mark their own patch.
Additionally, things like bleach and Jeyes Fluid are likely to harm your soil, and potentially your plants. They'll also damage other living things, like worms etc., that are good for the ground.
I think the mesh idea is a pretty good one. You can get fine mesh from garden centres that you won't even notice when it's in place. Just dig the edges under so it doesn't blow around.

I think I might go for the mesh idea. Thanks everyone.
You're fortunate that the cats cover their poo, for where I live they crap on the lawns leaving it uncovered, and you have to watch where you walk, especially before you start mowing the grass.

Have you ever by accident run over it with the mower?

Find out where these cats owners house is, walk into their back garden unannounced, drop your strides and do a massive s*it right in the middle of their lawn.
It wouldn't solve your problem. But it would be nice to see how they liked it.

remind me to read that tip after a night out on the lash...;)
you should buy it from a supermarket (asda has it) - its slightly cheaper there, than from a garden centre
and I didn't pour it over the garden - I painted it on the fence, on the border fence, and poured it onto some decorative logs I have. It sorta smells like a cross between creosote and dettol - only much stronger.

I've often thought about chucking the cat cr@p over the fence (its my neighbours cat thats the culprit) - but it would be covered in cocoa shell mulch and looking very much like a "nutty bar" from the eighties - somebody might eat it

This is an advice thread. I'm looking for advice. If you don't have something helpful to say, don't say anything.

I have...it wasn't very pleasant I can tell you.
I've been looking into building a cat trap as I'm sick of the things coming into my garden. I might try something like the one shown here.
It's the same for me.
