YES! Looks like your mentor finally got something perfect tonight! I thought the song choice was AMAZE, and yeah the whole thing was AMAZE! Just make sure you come back and do the exact same thing next week (well I mean wow-ing me, not the same song).

Matt, now that's what I'm talking about. I have to say that even though I'm impartial, you have been improving in recent weeks and you are becoming one of my favorites. Tonight, you have proven to me that you can be diverse and that song choice was a genius choice by your mentor. Tonight, you were the best in Kevin's team who not only used a song that was right for the theme, it was also a fantastic performance. Well done Matt, you should definitely be safe.

Matt Defreitas: This was a brilliant performance Matt, I loved the way you sang the song, your annunciation, your performance style, your connection with the song and with your audience, I really liked the performance, it was a brilliant contrast to your previous performances because it was more stripped back and raw and enabled your fantastic tone to come through so clearly! Congratulations Matt, I loved it.

Amazing comments for Matt Defreitas there, but will he indeed be as safe as the judges claim he'll be? That, like the rest, is up to the DS forum public.

Now, having the difficult task of following up on that amazing performance, it's mister Olly Murs singing a cover of a true classic: I Shot the Sheriff by Bob Marley and Eric Clapton (Ryan and The Rumours cover)

Olly, what a risk to take by your mentor. I am so glad that I didn't volunteer to take over cause I wouldn't have found you that song. It was a great risk to take, but you performed it as if it was indeed the right one for you. It certainly was now and I think you luck is finally turning around cause in other games, you've been eliminated early but not this time. Your mentor is doing a great job with you. Keep it up for next week.

That wasn't bad at all. I thought it was a very good choice considering how little notice your mentor had to find something/find his feet with your style/journey. I was by no means your best, but in the circumstances it was really good and I full expect to see you back singing live in the next show! Well done!

Olly Murs: No, I didn't enjoy this very much, it was a dull song choice with absolutely nothing unique or stand out about it. I don't even feel like the vocals really suited you at all, I was totally nonplussed by the whole song to be honest, it was forgettable and just a generally average performance, I really didn't like this at all unfortunately.

Some decent comments for Olly there, was the change of mentor a good thing for him or will it ultimately be his downfall?

It's time for the final performance from Team Kev tonight, and it will be brought to you by the one and only Beverley Savarin! The song she will be performing here tonight is It Kills Me by Melanie Fiona.

It was a nice choice, it just felt too generic R&B to me! I didn't feel it was unique enough for you/your style as your other choices have been. It wasn't bad though, everything always vocally is good, it's just a shame the choice wasn't stronger because I feel your progressively declining after the amazing week one performance. Maybe I'm jumping the gun to early with that, however, I'd like to see you regain your place as dark horse!

Beverley Savarin: To use a pun, you killed it! I absolutely loved this performance, it was a fantastic vocal performance and it showed exactly how strong you are, on a vocal level and as a performer. You really summoned all your vocal strength for this performance and you really connected with the emotion of the song. It was magical, well done Beverley, you absolutely blew the roof off with that.

Well. I'm gonna have to disagree with April here. Beverly, I thought that was a KILLER of a song choice from your mentor. Absolute genius was what I was seeing tonight, the song, the lyrics, the performance. It was the whole package you brought on this week. Your best performance to date, you are definitely the darkhorse in this competition. Well done on tonight's performance, Beverly.

Enough of the killing puns already, they are absolutely killing me at this point! :p

Anyway, mixed comments for Beverley, although the overall response is overwhelmingly positive due to Soppyfan and Kevin's praise. There's still the question of how the public will vote though...

It's time for the penultimate performance of tonight's show, and this one will be brought to you by Barry's wildcard act. Please give it up for Jake Quickenden singing Taxman by The Beatles (actiondeath unique cover)!

That was a good improvement from last week's performance. In fact I enjoyed it a lot more this week. Maybe Jess' personal situation was affecting your choices, but hopefully Barry can really do some great things for you. He's certainly got off a great start and I look forward to seeing what direction he takes you in, in the future.

Jake Quickenden: This was bizarre Jake, that strange roar at the start, the whole feel of the performance, the vocals of the performance, your voice is nothing like this! You have quite a tender voice with a slightly edgy side to it but with this performance, it seems like Bazz thought that you were David Wilder, it was a really unusual song choice and I wasn't convinced that it actually suited you? It's a massive shame as Jess was doing a great job with you but this was a big step back.

Again, I may have to disagree here. I thought that was a very catchy performance tonight. Your mentor has really got into making the team diverse in a short space of time. That was a very clever cover to go after and you made it a great song to sing as if it was something current and not like the original from way back in the mid-60's. I enjoyed that a lot tonight, Jake. I'm sure you'll be safe later.

Mixed comments for Jake there, although April and Soppyfan both seemed to enjoy his performance. Will the public agree with them or will they rally behind Kevin's doubts about this performance?

We'll close tonight's show with another cover of a classic. Hailing from Team April, it's Perrie, Jesy, Jade and Leigh-Anne, also known as Little Mix! Here they are singing a cover of I Need A Dollar by Aloe Blacc!

Woo! Amazing job girls! As ever, the solos were great for each of you, the harmonies were well executed. I was torn between this and another version, but i'm really glad I eventually settled on this one. Great job and please everyone vote for them!

What a way to close the show! Two shows ago, a bit meh...the last show was a comeback but tonight, you simply wiped the floor with the song choice and as always, your harmonies were spotless. This was the performance of the night...finally girls, you are back to what you do best and April has worked very hard with you so far. I hope you continue to change it up each week.

What an incredible way to end the show, both for our viewers and for Little Mix considering the comments they got! That's it everyone, your top ten have all performed their songs. Now it's up to you, the DS public, to decide who stays and who goes!

Tonight is a single elimination, but as I mentioned earlier there will be a small twist I'll announce as soon as I've posted this summary post. Nothing too bad or game-changing tonight, just a little bit of fun. You can make sure your favourites survive though by voting for them!

Here's a reminder of the acts that performed tonight:
Girl v Boy - In For The Kill by La Roux (cover)
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4trZushH2Bg
Reason: Killing people is a criminal act

Aiden Grimshaw - Start A Fire by Futures
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SDQygdQUsuc
Note: Imagine Aiden's slightly darker tone.

Carolynne Poole - Folsom Prison Blues by Johnny Cash (Lindi Ortega cover)
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xUfFJf6CLuM

Arin Ray - Big Black Buck by Donnie
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zeYUxlZQHuw

Tasha Pyne - Time Bomb by Kylie Minogue (cover)
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IYgTg3KdYWM
Reason: Letting bombs go is criminal activity in this country

Matt Defreitas - Chasing Rubies by Hudson Taylor
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wng5uyNXkCk
Note: In the song, they sing about chasing rubies and gold which are signs of immense wealth, i.e. money

Olly Murs - I Shot the Sheriff by Bob Marley and Eric Clapton (Ryan and The Rumours)
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=03Y6OFyIoD8

Beverley Savarin - It Kills Me by Melanie Fiona
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q8yZedKTXJ0

Jake Quickenden - Taxman by The Beatles (actiondeath unique cover)
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PVgHZDus6Pk

Little Mix - I Need A Dollar by Aloe Blacc (cover)
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zLDzPnSYtI4
    Reason: Isn't it obvious?
Note: The song ends at 4:15
To vote, please rank all the acts that have performed tonight from 10 to 1, assigning 10 points to your favourite act, all the way down to just 1 point for your least favourite act. Mentors can vote as well, and they CAN vote for their own acts as well. After you've listed the acts, PM the list to me (EndOfSanity).

The lines will remain open until 21:10, with the results taking place at 21:15 on this thread. That gives you just almost one and a half hour to vote, which should be plenty of time.

    In the meantime
, feel free to talk about the show on this thread.

Little Mix: This was a great performance and it suited you girls well, the only doubts I would express is that it wasn't perhaps the most inventive choice because from what I recall, U-Neeq have been used on one of these shows for Little Mix previously. A good performance all the same!

Do you know what time it is? :p

Anyway, the theme tonight is Crime Doesn't Pay. Now I had a great twist in mind in the event that there were rule-breakers, but I've had to come up with another as they weren't any.

Crime usually incites fear in people, and that's exactly what I'm going to do to the judges. It's time to ramp up the danger! Instead of there being two acts in the sing-off, there will be three today. Only one will go, but that's one position that would have been safe under normal circumstances gone now. Additionally, the judges will have a tougher decision as they will be deciding between three acts instead of two.
