Threw a banana skin onto the corrie set near the taxi rank when they were filming.
Sean Wilson (Martin Platt) used to drink in my local when he was in Corrie, and also 'recognised' me one night from a local nightclub.
My dad knew Julie Goodyear (Bet Lynch) in the 70's.
Also met Shobna Gulati (Sunita Alahan) and Lucy Jo Hudson (Katy Harris) who was very petite and pretty in real life.
My son met Alan Hansell (Tyrone Dobbs) the other day when out with his friends and he said he was funny, friendly and better looking than on the tv.
My other son used to be good friends with Kelvin Fletcher (Andy Sugden) from Emmerdale when he was in primary school, and Kelvin often came round to our house.
I think he was also an extra in the soap he worked on, before he had a part. He was a mate of Nick Berry and David Scarboro and went to a lot of the same auditions as Ross Kemp, apparently always up for the same kind of parts.
I once went to a 'show biz' type party with him (just a do above a pub in London, nothing classy) and met a few people he'd worked with in the theatre, and another of the guests I spoke to most of the night as he was very familiar and I thought I knew him from somewhere. Someone told me later, he was one of the main actors on The Bill. I never watched it, not a single episode so must have only seen him on trailers. Don't know his name. He was one of the originals I think - but to chat to, just a sound, down to earth bloke.
Ah and I forgot, his mum was cousin or second cousin, I forget, to a very well known landlady of a certain soap pub. Which makes my kids her second cousins, or whatever, I suppose. Although there had been a huge family argument in the 1950s, so the two halves of the family had no communication at all.
I'd much rather have links with Coronation St. It's way better. Ah yes, I do, I was at uni with Adele Rose's niece. Many many years ago.

An old uni friend of mine was in an episode of Doctors a couple of years ago as the story of the day main character.

When I was at college our tutor reminded us on a regular basis he was friends with Kay Mellor (Gaynor Faye from Corrie/Emmerdale's mum)
