I bought my nephew a Elgato game capture device. We set it up it records game audio but not him talking. Does anyone what I can do?

Is the problem it not recording the live commentary he's doing? So, he's doing the commentary through a headset? Because in that case I believe it won't work. You need a separate mic attached to a computer to pick up any live commentary.
