  Sometimes people get a hold of their birth certificate years later as an adult and discover they have a different date of birth to the one they thought they had. Also gender could change if they undergo gender reassignment surgery.

  It's probably some essential new human right or something, people can just feel inside that they were born on the wrong day so can now legally change it and everyone has to go along

  someone could of entered their DOB using the US MDY system instead of our DMY and most software doesn't seem to allow changing of DOB's so i'd imagine its seen as an admin level function

  Eh? I doubt many people have had their DOB mixed up since the late 1800's and changing your gender does not alter your DOB!
