Cardinal Burns

5 episodes in and (unless the search has missed it) no thread on this show?

That's a bit surprising as it's been one of the more original new comedy shows in ages.

The Flirt Office, the real Banksy, and especially the filthy casting scenes have been really funny I think, a really talented couple of comedians (although the spoiled teenage girl character is a bit too like Chris Lilley's Jam'ie King).

Shame that it doesn't really seem to have caught on so far but I believe it definitely deserves a chance on Channel 4 as it's a lot funnier than a lot of the stuff they show on there.

I was quite surprised at this, the show is great so far, would love it to have a primetime slot on CH4.

Is that the bit with the blonde and Yumi (pleeeaasse)?

I thought they were supposed to be teenagers.

    Catchy song as well.

Those Northern gay ghostbusters were quite funny in the last episode as well.

their parody of American indie films was spot on too. Not the funniest thing I've seen, but I hope it gets another series

Yeah, I don't think they're meant to be teenagers in it, it's more like MIC

The blonde "girl" is like Jam'ie King from Summer Heights High though.

I hate sketch shows with a passion, probably because they're boring, they go on too long, or they're just not funny.

Cardinal Burns is a whole new 'kettle of fish'.Every sketch is well thought out, it goes on at just about the right time and most of all, its funny.

I don't even know who these guys are, but they gel and are very funny. Very Pythonesque.

According to today's Guardian the best sketch of the series is in the finale (a job interview role-play).

They also said it deserves a run on Channel 4.

This show and Justified on Five USA are the best on TV for me at the moment, doubt either get much in the way of ratings though.

Blimey, maybe I was watching something else, I thought it was very patchy and not really funny at all, I tried it out for 3 weeks too and then had to give up.

This has been the best sketch show in a while. Started off a little badly or at least it didnt shine but i think its got progressively better as the episodes and characters have gone on. Im surprised this isnt a longer thread but then maybe people tuned in to episode one and didnt enjoy it

Just caught up with the last episode, the aforementioned job role-play sketch was funny but I don't know if it was the funniest of the series, my favourite this week was new guy and his mate heading off for a new job together.

Deserves a run on Channel 4 and then a second series.

Kabump! I caught this last night, thought it was new, only one sketch didn't really make it for me.
