Tess Bell from Neighbours recently did her stuff in Hollywood but got panned by critics.

I wouldn't say someone had 'made it' in the states until they have had a few successful films/tv shows. It's too easy to say that they've made it when they've been in something that wasn't very successful, just because its set in america.

    IMO ;)

Kim (Chris Hemsworth) from Home & Away is doing well. He's been in a few Hollywood films, including Star Trek and has been cast as the lead in the upcoming Thor movie.

    Holly Valance
A recurring role on prison break and I've seen her pop up in the odd guest spot on shows and movies.

Melissa George has had a fantastic career. So has Alan Dale.

Michelle ryan hasn't really made it to hollywood. She had a flop show and since then, she's resulted in doing work back in the UK. Clearly her eight episodes of Bionic Woman didn't leave a lasting effect.

Isn't there a guy from EE that is now in supernatural? That could be the start of something. Was it a one off appearance or a recurring gig?

Dr. Al. :) I think that was a guest appearance, but it's definitely a good start for him.

Anna Friel (of Brookside fame) is another one. She was in Pushing Daisies and she also had a big role in a Will Ferrell film, (the film was awful though.) :p

Anna Frial, i think her US career is sorta over but it was her own fault. She was offered six US pilots to star in and she turned them down.

But she is a great actress and I would love to see her pop up in some american movies or shows.

Dr Al did have a one-off appearance but his character was quite important to the ep so it could lead to more. What about Sean Maguire he appears in a lot of different stuff in America dunno if he is classed as successful.

That's right. I saw him in the film Triangle, which also starred another ex-soapie, Melissa George.

The Aussie soap stars seem to fare better in Hollywood than their Brit equivalents, generally.

Apparently Heath Ledger also had a role in Home and Away, as did Naomi Watts - she starred in "The Ring" and "King Kong" and Simon Baker who has been in several movies as well as "The Guardian" and "The Mentalist".
