    Tony Hart Has Died (Again)

Thought that was the title of the new Half Man Half Biscuit song when I first saw it.

The news of his death isn't a news story but the news of the story about his death appears to be news.:o:D

It's not been republished, it's just had a lot of hits, because it's become a current topic here. At the time of posting 264 people have looked at this thread, safe to assume that 200 of them have clicked on the story, creating a 'spike'

Hardly surprising that only 200 clicks can have that effect seeing as the recent makeover to the [Guardian] site is bloody awful.

Does the site still show top news in the last 24 hours from about 6 years ago?

...... stories about hitler taking over germany will say "The Manchester Guardian" at top of page, thus avoiding confusion ......

They're not - I'm not sure you understand how 'hits' work. If lots of people click on an article from 2009, it jumps to the top, which happens frequently on the BBC website if something goes viral on social media.

Yes that piece about the Anaconda eating a Crocodile(of some description) and then bursting (too much Chilli sauce probably) has hit the top on several occasions over time.

Didn't The Guardian manage to spell its own name wrong once on the masthead ? At least it did according to Private Eye !
