Given the current situation with 1200 migrants arriving at the weekend alone and now about 300 a day arriving, would you cancel your holiday to Kos or strike it off your list of future possible destinations until the crisis has ended? The migrants are complaining that the Greeks are too slow at processing paperwork to allow them to get off the island and travel to the rest of Europe. I wouldn't be surprised if Rhodes isn't also targeted too as it's not far from the Turkish mainland, just glad I'm going to Corfu in September.

Corfu isn't immune.
No, but it's one hell of a long way from Turkey in a dinghy!
It will destroy their holiday industry.
Who would chose to go on holiday to a place overrun with desperate migrants ?
Oh wait, I'm sure all the hand wringers will be flocking there, in support of the Greeks and the migrants.
Or maybe not......
Why would they travel past mainland Europe to get to Corfu ?

Get over the obsession with the Daily Mail Robin - you're coming over all jealous. ;-)

So we all think ISIS are evil personified and these people have escaped, with nothing apart from their lives. Oh dear, the horror and distaste of having to actually see the victims of civil war. Homeless and destitute including children and babies, upsets poor diddums holiday makers. I have no sympathy whatsoever. Count your blessings you inhumane fools.
Yet they'll all be boo-hooing and outraged by ISIS, no doubt.
It does now, I think the future of the island's economy is in serious jeopardy as this could kill their tourist trade.
That's easy for you to say, did 1200 migrants turn up on your doorstep last weekend?
Do you mean, "did you have to actually see the beastly sight of homeless and hungry people, or were they safely out of sight and only in newspapers, so they don't matter"?
They may not be 'safely out of sight' for much longer, many have their sights set on the UK.
Tbh it's not the holiday makers I feel sorry for, it's only a week or two out of their lives, it's the locals who will be left with no income if their tourist trade dies, all the money they earn during the summer season has to see them through the winter as well.
Fair point, they are already struggling as it is.
Kos is a gorgeous island .
And what about the poor refugees ? With nothing left in the world .Women and babies who are homeless ?
What do you mean? They have reached the promised land that is the EU, they will be welcomed with open arms and be able to enjoy a new life in a western European country.
