What is the female equivalent to a lounge suit?

I'm just going somewhere with my dad and they've only mentioned the men's dress code is lounge suit. I have no idea what the female equivalent is. If anyone does I'd greatly appreciate it :)

I would have thought you'd just wear a dress? Nothing too short, or overpoweringly floored [unless you're the host or extrmemely high society, or just 30+].

I'd wear a dress, from anywhere between just above the knee to ballerina length. If the dress was strapless or quite flimsy then I'd put a shrug or jacket or something over the top. Alternatively a skirt and top would probably be okay or even a cute suit (Chanel-ish with a silk shell top or something underneath).

Lounge suits is basically a fraction less formal than morning suits which is less formal than black tie. Does that help? I hope so!

Enjoy your special occasion...and shopping for your outfit...
