Just stop posting, don't come back, and as far as you are concerned, it's gone.

    You cannot remove it.

You can ask the mods to make you a guest or de-reg it, but to get rid of it is impossible.

As someone else said. Just stop using it. Why the need to close it. Your comments will still be there. Though after about 3 minutes you won't be missed.

Ask the admins. They will in turn ask you a secret question, which can only be answered by completing several tasks that will test your very soul.

It's the reverse of Hotel California - you can leave, but never check out!

Do click on logout, don't click on login. There you go.

Of course you can leave - what a ridiculous thing to say.

If you really want to leave, go to your profile and change your password.

    go here ..

    http://passwordsgenerator.net/

and generate a new, random one. cut and paste it into the both fields and confirm it and then immediately close the browser. there's very little chance you'll remember it so you'll be prevented from logging in ever again - hey presto, you've "left" !!

Nope, there is a "forgotten password" link on the login form.

Just spam GD with stupid threads... troll us roundly, finish off with an alighty flounce. That appears to be the route most people meet "inactive member" status.

Make a few hate-filled posts aimed at minority groups, link to a bit of porn and talk about Madelaine McCann.

    There's also guest status.

As I said previously... ask the admins.

There is that option yes, but as they are clearly unable to find the contact form (as they have said as much) then guest status may be difficult.

I don't understand how they can't find the contact form though...

    @OP:
Look at the bottom of the forum in the black bit, there is a link that says "Contact Digital Spy", click it. You will see three options, it's the first one (forum support query); clicking it opens a contact form, fill it in asking them to close your account.

Flounce in style, throw some abuse around, post multiple threads about a certain missing child.

    Job done.

Or do the right thing, contact the Admins asking for your account to be closed.
