The only advice I could give (yes you are right it is probably one for advice rather than GD) is dont expect too much and go for answers rather than with an expectation of building a lasting relationship with her, make she knows your intention so its easier to cut ties if you decide thats the best way forward.
Also dont try to incorporate it into your holiday, go and have a good time with your friends, just see it as a sign to re-evaluate your original decision. Its better done as a separate event with plenty of support. Its bound to affect you emotionally so you will need it
