I watched Earthshock last night with the commentary by Peter, Janet, Sarah and Matthew. I'm not generally too keen on commentaries but love it when this lot get together. They clearly have a lot of fun and are able to laugh at each other and at the show. You always feel like you've had an insight into what it might have been like at the time of filming.

I wondered what others feel about commentaries and whether anyone has any good recommendations.

"Terminus" is quite good. No old farts getting things spectacularly wrong (e.g. "Wasn't this made in 605 line [sic]?" about a 1975 programme) The writer is good and interesting. And Sarah ("I don't think I've got a bra on") Sutton is there too.

Anything with Peter Purves is on is good too. Old of the few old timers who isn't senile.

Davision does seem to slate the old show in his commentaries, as does Fielding.
