Facebook mystery

If Facebook gives someone's location under their post are they really there or can you make it look like you are anywhere in the world? The reason that I ask this question is that a friend has put a post from Florida and they were here yesterday Yes I know about air travel but I wonder if they are blagging.

I'm not very technical but I think it's a GPS thing.

So either them or their phone/device is in Florida

I know on certain apps you can "check in" to places, even if you are not there. I don't know about Facebook though.

If they check in then I guess that uses GPS. If they do it the other way they can be anywhere at all I suppose.

Just tried - if you add a place to a status rather than checking in, you can pretend to be anywhere.

You can get applications to put in a fake GPS on Android handsets (not iPhones)

Facebook is also a great sooth-sayer. It currently says I'm in hell.
Not there yet but my gf said that's where I should go.
    WOW!!

You could wind up a friend by tagging their partner as being somewhere with you! Ha. Actually, there are probably some dumb cheaters on there who would let themselves get caught out by adding that they were at their secret lover's house!
