I've got nothing against moving some programmes around the place - but presumably moving The Weakest Link to Glasgow, is based more on cost than increasing the regional quota. No longer to the BBC have to pay Pinewood-Shepperton studios for both office space AND studio space.

However, reading that 2 Saturday lottery shows (one in-house, one indie) are going to come out of Pacific Quay is really worrying. If they turn out to be of the format, quality and post production of This Time Tomorrow, then it'll be backwards step.

The BBC pay for contestants to travel up(whether by plane, train or petrol), including hotel accommodation. I was on Jet Set(in Glasgow) last year and we worked out that coming from Southampton they must have paid around £600 for the two of us(we were there twice)

If the BBC want to save money expect more Northern English and Scottish contestants on the Weakest Link because it will cost them a fortune to pay for the expenses of anyone who lives south.
