Ah but that's different, what was being talked about was where does it return you after you've saved and come back to the game. Respawn positions during a mission after death, as you rightly point out, are different matters.
I've gone off Far Cry 4 a bit after I encountered the bug at the end of Act 2 whereby the soldier kicks out unconscious on the mountain but the screen goes black and never loads the next scene. When you load up the game again, you're stick in the world with no objectives and nothing you can do to progress.
To solve this issue I had to use someone else's save game which triggered the game to load up the first scene in act three. I was able to continue but this person's save game had 1.7m Kyrat currency, they had bought all the guns and collected every propaganda poster in the first half of the map.
Felt it wasn't my game anymore really. Also you have no reason to rob dead guards of their money when you're a millionaire anyway.

That's a real bummer. I just reached that point but mine worked fine.
If you choose not to defend them, they can get retaken. Don't know about after claiming all outposts and fortresses as the map should generally be clear of enemies then. (Going off FC3)
They stop retaking the outposts if you take the fortress nearest to them.
The first time I played I was on Normal difficulty, and then if you go near a fortress they warn you off it for it being too hard. It turns out they are only a little harder than a normal outpost. If you wait until its owner is killed, it becomes too easy. So I think it's worth doing them earlier rather than later, and then you don't have to worry about outposts being retaken.
I'm pretty sure they can get retaken if you don't help. I've had to take one outpost twice.
So I guess for Far Cry 5 we're likely to get more of the same. They won't want to mess with a proven formula. That will be OK, but I hope they also try something more serious. The first time I played I did Amita's missions, and that felt easy because she has a modern, Western outlook (albeit somewhat pro-drugs). Second time doing Sabal's, I thought that was more interesting because he is more traditional. At one point Amita accuses him of wanting to have sex with under-age girls because that's the tradition. I think video games have great potential for story telling, and Far Cry has a great engine, and I'd like to see them do more with it than just be self-indulgent fun. Far Cry 3 tried, and failed, really, but I'd rather that then them give up trying.

I really hope they do something different for FC5. Part of why i like the series is that it changes so much each version, and its incredibly disappointing 4 is really only 3.5. It would ruin the franchise for me if they start treating it out like Assassins Creed and churn out iteration after iteration on the same formula.
It turns out neither Golden Path side is worth fighting for. Sabal's ending scene shows him slitting the throats of Amita's supporters.
Amita's ending scene shows her forcibly recruiting child soldiers and cryptically admitting to killing the teenage goddess girl.
Makes you wish that you could put Pagan back on the throne and take all the outposts back from the Golden Path
I've really enjoyed this game though. Possibly the best sandpit game that I've truly enjoyed playing since Red Dead Redemption on the Xbox360
^^ I don't recall those scenes. Am I missing something?
As for Sabal killing Amita's followers, that's not much different to what the player has to do to get to Amita. She was accusing him of wanting sex with under-age girls, with the implication he lusted after the teenage goddess. One of my disappointments with the game is that it didn't develop these ideas further.
They're two cut scenes that trigger depending on who you chose to support and if you visit particular locations once it's all over. The odd thing is it allows, or even encourages, the player to take out one of the characters, but not the other no matter how you play it, which seems a bit unfair - or at least a bit un-even handed.
If you supported Sabal go to the temple in the middle of the lake which you had to save.
For Amita's it's in the hideout just below (maybe just above) de pleurs fortress. I think the name starts with a t.
I reset all the outposts, got a bit boring after the campaign. Played it twice, killed both but had to look up online for the cut scenes - bit of a shame. It was a good story but let down by the abrupt ending, and where is Bhadra! She was really stroppy at the start but I really liked her by the end, the look she gave you as she walked off.
Love the multi rocket launcher, much fun to be had now the soldiers are all over the place again. Both Amita and Sabal are *****, prefer Pagan to be honest.

A world away from Shangri-La where you can make the tiger do all the work for you. I think I did it in the least stealthy way possible. I did understand it was far away if you didn't feel any vibration, but those moments were extremely brief and more often than not it would find me even when being still and out of sight. So yeah, grabbed the hook, pegged it to the next section with lots of frantic healing and hoping not to die, then got the rope, mass panic and healing trying to find the way back to the cliff.
I tried to do the next bit all properly, with the throwing knives and stealing weapons, but then I thought sod it this is going to take too long, too many dogs, heavies and snipers and so I just did suicide runs between each checkpoint until I got the hell out of there.
Beat this yesterday and somehow made the same mistake twice of not just doing exactly what Pagan Min said He was a good villain and his cut scenes were the only ones I found engaging but he wasn't in it enough. imo he was actually the best of a bad bunch when compared to Amita and Sabal, although Amita is completely OOC in her secret ending. I guess it's a trait of this series that everyone ends up being batshit crazy.
I actually didn't really enjoy this game but the psychotic completionist in me couldn't put it down lol. I'm at 99 point something percent, only thing left to get is one weapon which is unlocked via reaching rank 10 in the Arena (I'm rank 6 at the moment). I also need to finish off the single player achievements. Won't bother with the co-op ones as I think putting co-op achievements in a game that is primarily single player is anti-consumer.

Some amusing comments the Golden Path make on the rabid bear mission.
