no mention whether its for one type of labeller or the other, as this will only work for the simple labeller. Not the template labeller

the solution can be found on this site
    http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_8-hardware/lightscribe-dvd-burner-windows-10-solved/0d7d5ac3-2ae6-4efc-a6ca-2fe4ec1447d6?auth=1

if this is getting the LS software to install turn off the Antivirus, click install LS and it should install without problems.

depending on the version of lightscribe... be sure to have lightscribe diagnostic utility, lightscribe control panel, lightscribe template labeller and lightscribe simple template labeller" version "1.18.27.10" installed.

run lightscribe diagnostic utility before running lightscribe template labeller to diagnose Win10 OS. before running the diagnostic utility make sure you have the lightscribe drive turned on. if you have an external drive hooked up to your computer. a disc isnt needed in the drive to run the lightScribe diagnostic utility. the program just needs to see there's a lightscribe drive available.

I didn't have to do anything other than use compatibility mode when installing the software.

    Works fine here.

Not much luck, tried most methods including copying the program files from a windows 7.

    Shame HP as forsaken it.
