This seems like it will be a thoroughly positive, non controversial and well balanced look at life for the underprivileged...

:D

Seen one person I recognise so far (Richie) always in town buming around with a can in his hand.

It's definitely showing the areas to avoid and none of the good! (as you'd expect!)

A worse portrayal of deprivation than 'Benefit Street'. Ch 4 has surpassed itself in scraping the barrel of society and finding the 'lowlights' . While a lot of the characters write their own script, some will have been heavily edited for shock value.

UKIP supporters... is this 'Britishness' that you want to preserve?

Yeah, that's the usual way they do these programmes. :(

The language is atrocious. Not much chance of getting a job if you cannot complete a sentence without swearing.

Is it Ralph Ineson? He usually does voiceovers for this sort of thing.

Yeah it's him. Finchy from The Office.

Why would you let yourself be seen doing things like that - and talking like this - when you're a) on a tag, b) known to the police and c) paying for it with jobseekers? *sigh*

My town isn't all like this, I promise.

I thought maybe for once they'd do a programme showing the reality of life on the dole for ordinary families, people whose life isn't all about drink and drugs and prison. But no, just more of the same as Benefits Street.

What happened at the end of this? I wasn't really watching (flicking channels and doing a bit of work) but I saw the thing at the end about the girl not being able to walk and bloke in prison. what happened?

He was tagged but got the offer of a job(and perhaps a new place at some point) only he decided to go joyriding with his friends and gf, crashed and she broke her neck.

Yeah. He got 7 years in the nick and she will never walk again but they're still together.
