What a shame. Charlotte and the rest of Hacked Off were so hoping that Labour would silence the press for them. The right wing press anyway- left wing papers like the Mirror are free to carry on misbehaving/hacking etc without comment.

You can accept democracy and the outcome whilst not liking the outcome itself..

in an interview with Davina McCall, she agreed being diplomatic was "not in her nature".

She is mad that after the millions spent on Leveson, Cameron didn't act on any of it. Rightly so when you think of what the Murdoch press put her mother through.

Or alternatively its you who cant accept peoples democratic right to walk down a street shouting their own personal views on life? So much so you have to insult them for having a different opinion to yours.. crime of the century.

Surely in this narcisstic individualist world you should actually be asking why someone so rich is stupid enough to use her vote and democratic freedom to look out for others when surely the best bet for her bank account is Tory

More people voted Conservative and UKIP in Wales than voted Labour.

And she has enough money to pay her mansion tax.

She is right to be angry nothing effective was done about hacking newspapers though.

She's probably only turned to Labour because she's almost bankrupt (last I read).

I don't see the point in these protests after the election. Nothing will change the result, so get over it and come out in five years time.

Good for her. She has more heart than the gullible Sun and Mail readers who voted Tory, that's for sure!

Which is a bit different from "not accepting democracy in action"

i can accept what you say, and i can comment on it as freely as i wish. she is welsh, and she is shouting her opinions at everyone else using a megaphone - ergo she is a windbag. a welsh windbag a la neil kinnock. (note: i do not class all welsh folk as windbags, for the pedants among you).

as for your 2nd paragraph, she is only doing this for publicity. nothing else - she must have a book or record to flog.

This will be the same people who talk about Ed Miliband stabbing his brother in the back, in a democratic election for Leadership?

i think people say this because i'm sure ed said at the time he won't run for the leaders job, and then entered it with the backing of the unions (although i am happy to be corrected on this).

personally, i think david miliband was too tainted by the new labour blair years (and his infamous banana man photo):D.

and yes, it was a democratic leadership election because david won every round of voting apart from the last one when the union block vote pushed ed over the line.;-)

And the Union block vote could have easily won it for David too.

But he didn't have their support because, as you say, he was too right wing for them.

We would have just had a Tory lite party with David. But my point was that Ed was democratically elected but many on the right (Tories I mean) deny this.

Good for her. She's gone up in my estimations now.

Perhaps moaning Conservatives like Myleene Klass can take a lesson from Charlotte.

The Tories are going to have to accept Cameron's fight to hang on to power has only just begun.

Socialist Worker with a 'Get the Tory's out' banner. They do realise that we had an election two days ago and the British people voted them in. What is it about the concept of democracy, that the left don't understand?

Oh 'eck, another B-lister trying her hand at trendy <<Tories out>> politics. Join the queue with the other brainless oafs like Brand, Coogan and the rest. All comedians, noticed? Of course under Labour, she'd be wallopped for a nice thick 'mansion tax' which would be handed over to a) the unions to cause more trouble and b) druggies, lazy-a*ses who won't work and unwanted immigrants. Lovely. Final point - the Tories won because most people voted for them fair and square, despite the effots of those Labour councils who 'lost' certain postal votes.

Maybe she has a new album or book coming out, a la russell brand.

200 strong crowd? Shouldn't this be in showbiz?

Why shouldn't they protest? It's their right after all.

When the next Labour win happens (and it will, public appetite for masochism can't last forever), you'll get the usual Right Wing windbags out in force threatening to move permanently to their tax havens in Switzerland or Monaco.

That's if any of them are still alive by then.

She gave her opinion... which is fair enough.

Why do the tory supporters think everyone should agree with them that the election result was a good thing?
To despair at the outcome is not to criticize the democratic process itself; one must be retarded not to realise that.

Seems democracy only works for some when they get the result they want. If not, they spit thir dummies out, stamp their feet and demand they get THEIR way. Some of the demands from those protesting today are do 6th form that it's like a bad comedy sketch
    1. If you see a Tory, pin a rosette on them so we know who to kick in the street.
    2. Never shake hands with a Tory.
    3. Never buy or accept a drink from a Tory.
    4. If one of your friends is a Tory, de-friend them and encourage your other friends to do the same.
    5. If you meet a Tory in public, name and shame them.
    6. If you know a Tory at work, start a campaign to get them fired from their job.
    7. If your boss or teacher is a Tory, expose them to your colleagues and demand they leave their post on the grounds of moral incompetence.
    8. Refuse to work for a Tory or, if that jeopardises your livelihood, sabotage the benefits they gain from your work (piss in their soup, overcharge them at the checkout, poor [sic] sugar in their petrol tank, sow salt on their garden, saw through supporting structures, etc.)
    9. Never ever show respect for the property of a Tory . . .
    10. Don’t engage with Tory trolls on social media. If they don’t understand the fundamental obscenity of their beliefs you’re wasting your time.
    11. Stop reading or watching Tory-backed media and entertainment that depicts the working classes as competing monkeys obsessed with celebrity and fame.
    12. The 24% of the electorate that voted Tory are our Enemy. They support a minority government that is waging a violent economic and ideological War against us, and we must fight back!
    13. The wealthiest 20% of our population is 10 times richer than the poorest 20%. It is they, along with the class traitors (cops, city boys, estate agents, etc), that make up the Tory electorate.
    14. Exacerbate, at every opportunity, the opposition between Them and Us.
    15. Scratch a Liberal and they’ll bleed Tory (see the comments below).
    16. This is Civil War.
